Warning: boring thread (Inspired Fourplay Team 2020 weak point?)
LEON replied to javimic's topic in Trials Chat
Euan Beaten! Ha, I'm gonna use that. I can't help with your axle, but that's bad, sorry. -
As someone who finally made the jump from a Pro 2, this all makes me sad.
-
I mean the seat stays are usually supported by kind of being a continuation of the top tube, with this there's nothing there to support them, the main force being drops, that'll just push them forward. A curved top tube like a Crescent Ilions should work better in theory.
-
Is the extra clearance so he can crouch down even further for 2 full seconds after landing every....single....move? But yeah, that's gross, and surely that seat stay area is weaker than a conventional set up?

I've watched two MT7s snap from a light drop to grass. I've seen Sam Pilgrim loop out going up to back wheel because the lever blade just flapped out of the lever, he had to smash it back in with a stone. Then they release a special high end lever blade that doesn't snap (comforting) of course for more money. Dozens of others have had the same problems. I had MT5s, the flex in the plastic levers was ridiculous and gave me no confidence. I've heard nothing bad about their calipers. These are common issues on a premium brake at top money. I know they can be powerful in that brief window when they work, but all things considered their levers are just a shit product.

The seals are the least of Magura's issues.
-
Standard modern Magura quality.

You sound very unlucky, also are you cleaning/lubing new seals with the right stuff?

In bigger sizes, 18 or 19t, it's a Chris King and weighs nothing compared to my steel ones but it's almost too light. Anyone experienced any fatalities? Just wanna know I'm not wasting my time.
-
Just replace them 2 or 3 times a year, it's a £10 part. You shouldn't expect it to last forever under the stress of trials. Same as a chain. Don't just wait for it to break.
-
There's so little difference between those sizes you'll be fine with any of them. Just keep the difference between L and R as close as possible, I've gotten away with far worse.
-
I think I might want this bike.
-
Hope you get them to change something. I never bought a Pro 4 mainly because of all the issues you've had, plus others. Only takes one issue on a big wall and that's it. They did a good job of correcting the original cracky hub shells, hopefully they do the same for this.

Godzilla vs Kong was excellent, I watched The Boy 2 straight after, which was total shit.
-
They're decent rims, just crappy paint and a bit heavy.
-
-
Are the Pro4s that bad? Not heard great things.
-
Yeah he said he basically has back ends off the shelf then makes a front end to fit. But yeah, 20 years on geometry is very different! No one is touching 380 stays on a 24in.
-
I genuinely winced when you hit the floor, that was rough.
-
Yeah, although 26in clearance is usually tighter, so 24in shouldn't be a problem. Others manage it no problem. He suggested an 83mm bb, 142mm axle etc, I was like.....na.
-
Yeah I wasn't expecting that price... He just couldn't believe 380mm stays on a 26/tyre clearance. What kind of frame are you getting?
-
So did I, he did absolutely not wanna make a trials frame lol.
-
That was excellent, try "Bad day for the cut" too if you liked Calibre. Edit, just realised I'm about 20 months late.
