simple little sollution that helps (i find it helps anyhow).... go find a nice bit of sloppy mud and smear some on your rotor (Y) *seriously... this aint a joke* or get some new pads... clarks ones work well i find (£14.99 from halfords)
-
nice bikes, i need new pics of mine
-
what... and £60 for a hope isnt >_<
-
hope headset @ CRC cycles = £59.99 inc free P+P Chris king @ aspire velotch = £73.67 inc free P+P for the extra £13.68 you get the 2nd best headset available (only 2nd to the Ti version (Y) )
-
on jump bikes the headset cups dont take the same amount of abuse as smashing the back of it into a rail when coming short on a rail gap (for example) best way to get a king into the UK is to go to ebay.com (not .co.uk) and search for "chris king" and find the "aspire velotech" guys... really cheap + fast delivery from the USA to UK.. its where i got mine (Y)
-
my hope WAS perfect till i found out how easy they dent (trying to chainring stall a rail to fakey, god it dented so easy, and there was only the weight of the bike behind it.... gone to CK and i'm well happy B) if you do want a good headset for cheap though i would recomend a FSA orbit XLII.. i had mine for a good 4 years, then the bearings gave up on me, the cups took a good beating aswell :-
-
i'd suggest adding £20 to a hope and getting a Chris King imported off Aspirevelotech from ebay.com....
-
yeah thats true, i do agree they go with the seat + white decals... but there is alot more black up front so they do stand out IMO
-
that aint too bad a break... atleast you can still use it... unlike when i bust my HD bolt  oh and i clean snapped a classic axle in half last year :- sent it back and payed the upgrade price to HD, then sold the full wheel to my friend with a brand new axle + bolts + collor
-
ashton looks sweet, think the white forks stand out just a tad though  got my spanking new King headset  *aspirevelotech (Y) *(see my pics in my album, link in sig)... now for the wheel + bars + stem...

yeah, but then you stand a greater chance of bending / snapping your frame/mech (bent mech = damaged chain aswell in most cases)..... which will then mean spending MORE money than just replacing your hanger
-
why thank you :P will look much nicer when i get me new parts delivered :D when i break my bombers i may try hunt down some more, or go rigid styleeee again :D *and yes thats, WHEN... not IF...*
-
ah... thats a bitch :D ask tarty nicely and he might have access to a spoke calculator
-
Mech hanger: £10-£15 sams saver £3 + go home, phone up and order new hanger = £13-18.... i'd rather just use it as a temporary solution till you get home (bit like that "slime" crap for inner tubes :D )
-
nah... this is a true street bike :D cant beat a bitta hand built british steel :P (waiting for CK headset + new bars + stem + atomlab front wheel to be delivered) Click the link in my sig for more pics
-
i remember using a old Magura booster i had lying around, cut it up a bit.. and the holes acted in the same way as "planned" in the diagrams lol... but a bit more crude and yellow :P
-
if the wheels your building... the rim and hub can be got hold of from chain reaction... phone them up and they can calculate it (thats whta i did with my chris king + atomlab rim.... they worked it out for me (seeing as they stcok both them parts) and the length was correct :P
-
few ideas which i use (which have all been mentioned up to now it may seem) - buy soem cable cutters - put the cable in some pliers and put them on the floor and hit the jaws with a hammer - hacksaw - or the other good 1, go to the local bike shop and ask them nicely, with the odd bribary of a KitKat, to cut it for you :( but best by far is just ot buy yourself some good cable cutters (best example, Park Tools) if your still on cables you'll definatly be using them again in the future so its a good investment

if you need medical stuff to gain a advantage your only cheating yoruself.... :- give me a few chocoltae bars anyday ^_^ they'll do for a good street riding session :(
-
from previous experience, 4x is more flexy :- a good tight 3x tension with a good rim and good guality spokes usually sorts things out nicely :( i built my wheel myself (CK SS Disk - Atomlabs Traimplimp - Plain guage spokes - 3x... got it all straight, then tensioned the hell out if it :P give it a good hammering for a week, nother good tight tension, then thats the last i hear of things... my wheels take a hell of laot of hammer form sk8park + street riding and i aint had any buckle problems yet (almost a year later B) :- ^_^

Random Question... Who On Tf Works In A Bike Shop?
street trials rider replied to street trials rider's topic in Trials Chat
most halfords are crap, if they dont have people who actually have a clue about the bike scene, most just have people who know about a bike.... The local raleigh shop dont have a clue for example.. i asked how much a hub was before, they said they didnt do hubs (after the initial "hubs, what are they..." :P ).... the counter they had was a glass topped cabinet, in which on top shelf was atleast 10 hubs ;) dumb f**kers no clue at all -

to be honest they do look for people that know more than the average biker knows (obviously the more knowledge, the better the chance of a job there...) i'm not sure about the minimum age for halfords..... (Y) -

yeah we had 2 Carera Banshes taken from stand and then they walked straight out the front door with them :P 1 on a friday, the other 2 days later on a sunday.... they'll have fun now, ALL bikes on the shop floor have 1 pedal, and the brakes fully adjusted on B) cheaky theiving c**ts :D on another note yeah the demolitions are a right royal pain in the ass :D almost as bad as the a-POO-llos..... wheels are straight, inflate tyres, wheel's buckled :o loads of fun *tally now at 17*
