i was holding them for like 3-4 mins on sunaday ... today i was only getting just over a min (me grey trainers have a crap sole on them)
-
new trick of the month for me and it isnt just a quick pic as i let go, few riders at the Pately Bridge comp (cleanbikes fun day 4th dec) will confirm i was trackstanding like this for a good few mins and no, my brakes aint locked on for those who are thinking it
-
we're building a bike up after xmas, but we intend to use it for going to the shops, so its "kinda" got to work Carrera Vulcan frame is the base of our creation
-
i've never ridden nat until sunday just gone (4th dec), i know i wouldnt cut it but i thought i'd have a go on my street tank :P yes i did come 8th in group, but thats all the fun, and about the group choice... try the middle group (usually intermediate) and if its too hard, drop a group... too easy, go up a group so what if you do badly aswsell.... its the atmosphere and taking part that counts (unless your @ worlds level :P )

What Stuff Have You Broken?
street trials rider replied to medwaytrials's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
i've broken atleast 1 of pretty much everything on a bike, except the actual collor part of a seat clamp :P :P *edit* few parts that come to mind..... - CK classic axle - CK HD bolt - Few Hope axles + 2 cracks in hub shell + 4/6 disk tabs (all on 1 Hope XC) - Handsomedog rockhound frame (11"), snapped the BB shell from the downtube/seattube area - Kona frame (in a week flat ^_^ ) - 9 SQ BB's in 2 month :o + many more - cracked a crown on a set of bombers a few year back - totalled a D521 + a X517 - loads of rear mechs - bent some bars + snapped a few sets... - etc... you get the idea... i'm a harsh bugger :P  -
Are Halfords Actually Retards
street trials rider replied to B.E.A.U's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
exactly what i do :) and we got the rear warehouse, where i can go and do my "repairs" out back, take as long as i want and listen to my music, or mess around with me laptop :) -
no major tips except if it gets extreamly flithy, or grity, then give it a quick simple service, the seals in the hub are very good, so less maintenence (sp)

there is actually only a few hubs worth a loko at depending on your price range and set up.... Gears: - Hope Mono.... excellent backup service form hope, break it, they 99.999999% of the time fix it for free - Chris King classic.... you say you've herad bad things about them... where? yes they are expensive, and you do need to wear them in a little (some good long rides with lots of rolling about usually sorts that) i cant fault my king, as i'm sure alot of other people on the forums will say Gears + disk - Hope XC.... same as above - Chris King ISO.... same as above Single speed - DMR Revolver.... nice and cheap, yet good build and good strength (engagement depends on choice of freewheel) - Chris King SS... heavy duty axle + bolts, usually comes with the sprocket aswell - Profile... nice build quality, cheaper than a king (not sure about the back-up from profile though) SS + Disk (same as above) i know it looks like all i'm' trying to do is promote CK hubs, but seriously, if you use one, you wont like any other hub after you get used to how imense the engagement is... i get on a bike with a profile hub, and even that feels a bit slow to engage

lol, good job you wernt at Pately bridge on sunday then.... LOADS OF MUD :) and all up and down hills.... i'm a street rider, but after my first comp, i wanna enter in more, and prove some street riders can finish just as good as natural riders
-
1) i ran SS in comp other day, as did about 95% of other riders :) 2) thats what this forum is for http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showforum=25 (News Forum)... then train or try to tag along with some1 else, lifts can be arranged in some cases, we're all 1 big trials family :)
-
be cool about it and enjoy yourself :) i entered my first comp other day (cleanbikes Funtrials @ Pately Bridge) was excellent, made new friends, put faces to TF names, got very covered in mud and came 8th in group :D i plan on entering alot more next year, i got comp fever :)

street trials rider replied to B.E.A.U's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
you get normal highstreet stores with bike sections, then you get the bit more "clued up" (usually) Bikehut stores -
Are Halfords Actually Retards
street trials rider replied to B.E.A.U's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
i have to agree that some halfords are retarded.... but thats just it... SOME, not all yes i do work in a halfords, but i know what i'm doing, and i know what its like to have something done to your bike which you didnt ask about, then find out your getting charged massively :) i'm the mechanic in the store i work in, everyone else who i work with in the bikehut is also very well into the sport (unlike some of the tards mr halford employs to work with bikes) any repairs get directed to me, any sales i direct to the other lads.... if you know the person who is fixing your bike knows what he's doing, then fine, otherwise learn to fix it yourself.... the tools aint that expensive for most common bike repairs, only stuff like BB threading/facing or a headset press, etc..... they're the expensive tools, which you will RARELY use (and thus dont need) -
if your not budgeted, check these out, SILENT http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Seasonic.html ordered a few things from them before, good service (pay for the extra Amtrak delivary if you do buy form there)

although i had a street set up bike (yes you all said it was a a "bit" on the heavy side) was a awsome day, loads of mud, and loads of trials, excellent atmosphere was able to put faces to TF names aswell  Thanks to all who observed and set up the event, i hope to attend another soon (with my tank :o ) and as already mentioned, that 180 to hook gap was stupidly sick wayne  lets see a 360 next year :o oh and i finished on 36 dabs on intermediate  -
me and my mate used to get some evil looks while riding our trials bikes in our local sk8park (R.I.P. APE)..... that was until we started riding their ramps better than they were :) * 15ft high wall ride (Y) * in the end they accepted us, and we used to just ride with them, and they'd treat us the same, as if we were on BMXs
