ive been saying it for years, ive ive FINALLY got PROOF that the sun really does shine out of my arse!

i think hes cracked 3 of them now mike!

its also worth point out, that the power producing capabilities of an engine are linked to its core temperature...... i dont know the science behind it, but i do know that on the A-series engine, maximum power is achieved if water temperature is kept around 60degrees, whereas maximum economy is achieved with a water temperature or around 90 degrees, because at 90 the a-series is at its greatest thermal efficiency! hence why later minis ran an 88degree stat, and earlier coopers and S's often had a 72 degree stat..... also worth pointing out that an oil cooler should really be used with a thermostat as well.... as if its plumbed in permanently, it could stop the oil reaching its optimum operating temperature.... which wont do things any good either.... engines are funny things! i cant wait to get back from uni and have a play with mine

sad to say i disagree with almost every single word you say..... your clearly getting grumpy old man disease i dont claim to know a lot about cars at all.... sure, i know a bit more than most..... but when it comes to minis, i know a lot..... and i CERTAINLY dont look stupid AT ALL racing what you call grown up cars....... i have NEVER had a single car keep up with me on my local roads, sure, ive not been followed by any super cars...... but ive been followed by all the typical hot hatches, golf/205 gti's, fast fords.... whatever.... the mini may not be the quickest in a straight line, but around and comming out of the bends, nothing will touch it! my dads tried in his 200bhp E30 3 series.... and he couldnt keep with me, despite being a better driver, in a modified bmw thatll pass 140mph.... however.... i do TOTALLY agree with your comments on a classic mini, and doing it properly. when i got mine, aged 17, i went for the widest wheels and the biggest most plastic, widest arches i could get my hands on! 2 years down the line ive totally gone off the wide boy beefy boy racer look! and swapped my 12's for a sexy set of 10's and some tiny slim gp2 arches. should be on and fitted within a few weeks haha- curley freak-saxo VTR, HAHAHAHA, dont make me laugh mate..... if your mini really is pushing out 105bhp it should eat vtr's for breakfast in reverse around my local roads ive totally anihalated a saxo VTS, C2 VTS, 206 gti180, fezza Zetec S.... etc etc, the list goes on! my car is milding famous amoung the young people where i live, as they all plan to get faster cars and beat me on the roads from millbrook to plymouth..... currently nobody has

who are the EIGHT dirty queers that voted for macs? sort your life out!
-
im sorry..... but my girlfriends entire family have been using macs for the whole 4 years ive known them, i work for hannahs mum.... and often spend a lot of time on the computer..... having spent a LOT of time working on macs, i can safely say i cant see ANY benefits of a mac over a windows system........... theyre nasty.... they look posserish.... which almost always means SHITE, theyre slow, nasty to use, only one sodding mouse button. the programs are stupid and make no sense, they dont work with pc stuff, which lets face it, it over 90% of computers out there! hannahs mum recently bought a sony laptop for use in her business.... and guess what, the f**king laptops never off, they all que up to use the lappy becuse the macs such a f**king joke! and its no cheappy mac either, its a top of the range one, costing a serious amount of wedge just over a year ago! so im not one of those 90% who have a pc and havnt tried a mac, i use one almost every single day, and hate every fecking dirty minute of it.... and what a surprise? a family that have only EVER had macs, all queing up to use the windows laptop.... why? because the macs a waste of f**king table space!!!!!!!!

or spend £1900 on a mint mini, and not some nasty shitty cheap run around ford or french thing, and spend the extra £100 on a roof rack with bike carriers...... roof rack goes on in less than 2 mins, u can leave it on, takes about a minute to load the bike up, and doesnt stop u putting stuff in the back of the car! the guy clearly says that nothing really interests him other than the mini! and i can see why.... all other cars are just shit in comparision..... sure, they may be very good cars, but minis are just more fun! bikes and minis are not a problem!
-
provided the seats tolt forwards at all, you can quite happily fit two complete stock bikes on the back seat of a mini ive done it many times! you take off both wheels, and the bar n stem, and two stocks will fit in side by side, with two wheels upright at the front, the bars on the parcel shelf, and two wheels horizontally ontop of the whole lot! if its just one bike, then the bar n stem can be left on 2000quid should see you a prtty sexy mini! if your just wanting it as a fun little car, and dont plan on excessive modifiying in the future, try and go with an SPI, mid 90's 1.3 injection mini, or cooper. the coopers are a bit nicer, nicer seats, alloy wheels, blah blah blah..... £2000 should see you a really nice and solid SPI on a reasonable mileage. and if u look after it properly itll be nippy and fun to drive, return 40mph, and look awesome! they also hold their value amazingly! mini prices are currently RISING"! your your garanteed a bargin if u buy one now you can also fit a roof rack on cheap enough, a full roof rack with two bike carriers will set you back well under £100, or any hatchback/saloon style boot rack will just drop on no problem due to the mini having a roof gutter thats two bikes on the back seat with both front seats still in place, and two people happily sitting in the front with no compromise of leg room

i lived 22miles from college/girlfriend/work, and did that 6 days a week, i used to spend around 30quid a week usually, the mini generally does 30-40mpg when driven reasonably.....

someone feeling horny tonight........
-
yes, yes it does! its not entirely honest..... but i was planning on doing it myself.... its entirely possible that you dad (probably being much older!) could insure a modified mini for relateively little, and if you had a policy on another more mundane car, you WOULD be covered 3rd party to drive 'his' mini..... technically you would be insured, although im not sure what would happen in the event of a claim!
-
afraid a twin engined Zcars mini would cost you WELL over 20k to do properly..... two guys on TMF just did R1 Zcars minis, and both currnetly have an agreed insurance value of 15k.... although they cost much more than that to build! strangely enough...... ive just got a set of 6x10 minilights and group 2 arches to go on my 1380 mini paul wiltshires arden 8port!!!!! that thing was SERIOUSLY hot, i saw it at newquay last year, and by christ, it was literally one of THE most gorgeous cars on the entire planet..... dont know many facts about pauls, but a mate of mines just built an arden 8port 1380 which made 160bhp on the rollers at a little over 7.5k, apparently it had more to go but tehy couldnt keep it down nick wets himself at the sight of the only car on the planet that could ever even stand a remote chance of tempting him away from minis-the mk1 golf................................ it doesnt quite, but it comes to close- i WILL own one one day! nice selection of cars from people...... it quite simply has to be a mini for me...... i dont care WHAT people say..... if offered an aston, along side a £50k budget to build the worlds greatest mini, the mini would win hands down every time..... its in your blood..... my favourite are perhaps these two.... the front one being a fully fibreglass mini minus, both running 160bhp, mid mounted, rear wheel drive R1 engines...... special

i did it years ago to make a 160 front work on a 160 rear! so i had to increaise it by 20mm! i used longer bolts and a few sets of extra v brake pad spacers, and it worked FINE tomm, so if i can do it for a 20mm bigger disc, im sure u can sort it for a 2mm smaller discmount....

i seem teo remember that when i installed my old cd player in my girlfriends95 corsa, the corsa plug was basicly an ISO plug with an extra bit on it for the corsas digital display at the top of the dash.... this iso plug was mounting in a metal backplate..... i removed the backplate so the iso plug was just floating free, then used the correct ISO adaptor to link it up the headunit..... it now sits down perfectly! i had your initial problem of it sitting 1'' to high..... u basicly need to remove the old cage from the corsa head unit!

something ive often wondered.... to all the people so dead set against speeding..... what if the limits were different? if a 30 zone were infact 40, and the motorway speed limit infact 90, would you continue to drive at 30 and 70? or 28 and 68? or 40 and 90? im afraid speeding is TOTALLY acceptable..... i will be honest, i pay NO ATTENTION to speed limits WHATSOEVER. i will drive at a speed that I (AND I ALONE) deem safe and appropriate for the conditions, which i always asses very carefully..... if its an open country road, that you know well, u know the danger spots, you know when people comming the other way are likely to be cutting corners, and you know your abilities, i see no problem in breaking the 60mph speed limit.... similarly, if your driving down the m5 at 3am in a thundering hail storm, i see no need to drive at 70............. 50 would probably be far more appropriate.... yes i will do 30mph along a street..... as it is often a fairly appropriate speed. but where the road permits i see no need to remain at 30mph..... and i wont! its as simple as that..... if its busy i may do 25, if there no one around and i can see there are no people about to jump out, i may do 40.... the problem is, that not many people share my veiw..... many young people DONT know the correct time and place for fast driving, and will go as fast as possible everywhere in order to show off..... sadly, because of this, the speed limits have to be enforced.... or the silly chavs go and die i totally agree with cameras at accident black spots, because if theres a camera there, you ARE going to slow down..... and i guess that will save a few lives but putting a fiat van in a motorway layby and nicking people for doing 88mph down the motorway is just a complete joke! speed limits are such a joke..... end of story.... Merry Christmas-im off to bed

Prawny Baby replied to endofreak's topic in Chit Chat
ignore the blatent advertising for my local chippy i had a deal going whereby i got free food for advertising them when driving to/from college can get 4 bikes up there..... ive also got a boot rack.... but id only ever put 1 bike on that.... before it got the seats bolted in and the rollcage, i once got two full stock bikes on the back seat! wheels and everything! -
fairly sure the fronts are single wall still arnt tehy?

having had a bounce on whiteboys yesterday, i reckon its the nicest short bike ive ridden yet.....hardly short i know.... but its 20mm shorter than anything id ride.... so its short enough my god.... 2 years ago 1060 was considered MEGA LONG :S:S
