  1. my mistake! at a quick glance, due to you clearly not being a boy racer chav..... it looked like it had the oil burner twin turned down tailpipes.... looking closer you can see it hasnt! sorry about giving your age away but when i saw that list of cars you were either full of shit or past 30 so i had a check...... awesome cars man......
  2. and according to your profile your also 38! so that explains a lot.... AWESOME cars mate..... is that last green mk4 an oil burner?
  3. no it isnt! dont change it rich its the wrong way round for a front brake, which stops the wheel when its going forwards, but most of the forces on a rear brake are going the other way, making the way he as it now more suited.... not that it REALLY makes any difference!
  4. i havnt a clue what any of that ment apart from the first bit..... answer the question: IS YOUR BIRTHDAY ON THE 14th OF JUNE 1991? Following the link to YOUR website in YOUR signature takes me to a computer clocking forum, where i believe from previous threads you are the side admin, the site admin on that forum is called huddy1990. no date of birth is given. back to TF, do a members search for 'huddy' and the user huddy2000 comes up.... strangely enough, huddy2000 used to have exactly the same pic of a young lady lying down, as your current profile, huddy2000 also appears to be interested in computers, and also appears to ride the same bike as you.... huddy2000's birthday is listed as the 14 June 1991. im afraid this cant all be coincidence. you clearly used to use the account huddy2000, and insulted people with it through a rediculous topic in new members chat. 3 hours was a SAFE estimate allowing for problems, and its probably what you would get charged by a garage anyway, as we all know they love to take our money... can you not read either kid? i said i dont claim to know everything AT ALL, my knowledge of minis is pretty extensive, but after that its basic, although id still say its higher than your average.... due to the fact that i do spend my life working on cars, and most people obviously dont! you are 15 years old, you are a little kid, now stop causing fu<king trouble and just PISS OFF.
  5. ok, i will think that...... answer me this though..... is your birthday 14 June 1991? because research would suggest it is.... and if im right, then you ARE a kid
  6. i never said i knew everything at all.... i gave an idea on a ROUGH time for the job, and an account of how it went on the mini..... i dont know everything, but id be willing to put my entire life savings on knowing a GREAT DEAL more than you, your a 15yr old kid, who clearly spends far too much time on his computer. i have been servicing and maintaining my family and friends cars for the past 6-7 years, on cars rangin from bmw's and audis, through to citroens, fiestas, escorts, both diesel and petrol, and a few engine swaps on transit vans. everything with the exception of ECU related things is done by me on my familys cars, ive build my own car ENTIRELY myself. ive owned around 20 cars myself sinse the age of ten, all of which worked on by me, ive done over 3 years of racing on both grass and tarmac tracks, in several different cars (not just minis at all) and have a trophy cabinet with over 30 trophies (3 years of racing, 10-12 meets a year, you work that out) oh yea, and ive got a driving licence! so while i dont claim to know everything (infact, outside of minis i know very little) i know a SHIT LOAD more than you-kid. if theres one thing i DO know its that no matter how long a job SHOULD take, it will almost always take a lot longer..... as i said earlier.... come back when you can drive.
  7. shut up. your just a kid, what could you POSSIBLY know? there is no max time for a job to take at all, you have to allow for possible problems, i was also taking into account that a car has TWO sides...... personally, id get them both done at the same time, its common sense IMO. and how many garages are going to charge you as little as possible? shut up and stop trying to make out you know it all. come back when your old enough for a driving licence. i was TRYING to give a ROUGH idea.... edging on the side of caution
  8. also checkout www.eurocarparts.com while your at it.....
  9. all depends on how the joint is attatched, or if its made as one unit.... on my mini shafts, its a case of hold shaft in left hand, and twat the CV with a lump of wood until it falls off....
  10. fill in 4 holes with blu-tack its cheaper than a new hubshell which of course is the other option
  11. as a guideline a CV joint for a mini is £38, and a CV boot is around a fiver..... i dont know how different pug prifes are likely to be, but that gives you an idea at least.... doing the CV boots is a HORRIBLE job, as you have to take the hubs off to get the shafts out, then bang the cv off the end of the shaft to get the new boots over.... ive just done inners and outters on my mini last week, did it while changing the brakes. 106's arnt TOO fiddly, so im guessing its around 2-3 hours labour for a capable garage.
  12. mins not like this anymore, ive tidyed up a bit and rearranged it with the bed across the end, but this was a fun day.....
  13. does it sound anything like a popping? or perhaps a kettle boilling over? its hard to descride, i thought it souded like a plastic fan blade catching.... you need to let us know what car it is mate! as certain cars are famour for particular faults! although from what you have said, id say the CV has gone, perhaps from too much dirt ingress sinse the boot went.....
  14. hang on a mo...... i read andys first post wrong i read it as : why do you need a 6 channel amp? i thought he said he was running all 5 things off one amp that wasnt 6 channel! sorry chaps i didnt realise
  15. then its either wired up HORRIBLY wrong, or its a 5/6 channel amp
  16. wooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! pompey ride on the saturday, then hampshire comp on the sunday? anyone up for that? steve S is comming up to mine for the weekend, so we will be riding pompey on saturday, then the hampshire comp on the sunday! anyone know where the hampshire comp is? and can anyone PM me Terrys Phone number? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
  17. meh. thats all in the past now freddie when i next take out a policy in a few months time itll be all mods declared, and an agreed value of around 4k still only gona cost me £650 though
  18. if you go with norwich union, 3rd party fire and theft, in your own name, a 998cc mini with pass plus will cost you around £500 first year aged 17..... you wont get ANY better than that! what peggs is saying, is that direct line will now give named drives a no claims bonus! so if you drive on your parents policy as a named driver with direct line for 2 years, you will have 2 years no claims on your own policy when u start one! which is awesome!
  19. took me a fe seconds to work out who that was its a keeper for sure...

WoooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! video footage that proves that i do still ride trials!!!! twas a seriously RANDOM day, started out feeling like a good day.... then all went pairshapped when i realised my skills had totally left me.... had a pretty rubbish middle part of the day, not making taps, being shit at gaps, and being able to sidehop about 3ft at a push then we got moved on by the fuzz at copthorn, and headed to the small memorial dropgap at the hoe.... which is when things started going right again! moved up to the massive dropgap at the hoe..... steve didnt fancy it, rich had broken his bike.... we were just leaving, when rich pointed out that he would do it next time he was in plymouth.... which would mean he would have done ANOTHER big plymouth dropgap before me.... i think not. so i did it THE END.
  24. common rail rocks! for work i drive a 130bhp passat which is common rail, and thats an awesome car! 130 horses and a 6spd box aint slow, yet still returns 50mpg every day beasty car!
