ive just decided that im going to be there dont ask how, but i WILL have a bike of some sort by then, and i shall be appearing in the mini....

went and did allthat yesterday after i went to the station with pics, no joy sadly...... ah well, i guess only time will tell!

having spoken to my dad he seems to think that our house insurance is a bit gay and bikes had to be specified still mildly hopful that its going to turn up though as i really dont see how anyone could sell it in the trials comunity, because even if its sold to someone whos not on here, hes bound to go on rides and its bound to be seen by people who are surely? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like im clutching st straws really i just want my bike back! its a saturday, the suns out, and for once im not hungover on a saturday!!!! i really should be out riding!

thats what the police seem to think as well latest news: the stupid c**ts forgot there was a 2nd camera outside the sheds, so they have been caught on that one, and they have pictures of the faces of two people who took it, so they are being circulated around the local stations to see if they can be identified, and im going to look at them too to see if its anyone i know. the police also seem fairly confident that a bike as unique as mine will be found, and its going to be in all the local papers next week as well, with it being such a unique bike. many of the bits were completely custom! so you couldnt even build a replica unless you spoke very kindly to edd potts, and knew the exact workings of my mind and my pillar drill...... and were sad enough to have noted all the individual mods to parts ive made.... bastards..... there is hope, very slim, but i guess i shouldnt give up just yet..... EDIT: big thanks to everyone for showing your concern! i was really in the mood for some good riding too, now that ive got a load of time off! the prospect of summer without my bike is seriously savage....

its a multi user type thing. basicly, its a basement with a big metal door, which has a yale lock opened by the room keys for the halls, and an additional padlock that you have to sign to get the key for if you want to keep a bike in there. inside there are bike stands bolted to the floor which you chain your bike to. problem is, 80% of the time, the halls residents are too <untish to bother putting the 2nd padlock on, because theyre a bunch of useless wankers! so any of the 400 people with the generic front door key could have gotten into the shed while the padlock was off, instead of the 50 or so people who have a bike shed key. im SERIOUSLY hoping that i can get something back, otherwise the chances of me getting another bike within a year are pretty slim....... i really am that skint. time will tell..... i never even got to take any pics of her when she was finished!

268 rooms in my halls, and around 140 in the halls behind, allof which share the bike locker. to get into the locker you need a room key, and you also need to take out a bike locker key for the 2nd padlock! to angry to type now posting again later

hi guys. ive just gone to go for a ride only to find that my bikes been stolen. it was locked up in an underground store, with only residents of my halls having access, locked up under a CCTV camera with 3 substantial locks. i last locked it up on sunday morning at around 10am when bigman left after the DJ ride. i just went to get it now, and its gone the only signs it was ever there are small bits of plastic from the remains of one of my locks. when i asked at reception, the womon said 'oh thats odd, the camera was moved earlier this week and we couldnt see anything' well theres a FU<KING SURPRISE YOU DUMB BITCH!!!!!!!!!! so. it wasnt insured. im living in portsmouth in university halls. my home is in cornwall. and obviously has house insurance. am i, in any way, shape, or form, covered by my house insurance for the loss of my bike? i am COMPLETELY skint, and dont have a penny to put towards replacing it, even with something shit. and i recently sold off almost all my spare parts to raise money! so im stuffed....... any advice, suggestions, or helpful comments of any sort would be lovely.... a VERY angry prawn, currently trying to to explode and smash the place up......

that hurt!!!!! trying to do mega spins on charlies bike after several cans of strongbow wasnt a good idea AT ALL! somehow i managed to put in SO much effort i got totally airborne and came straight down on my head REALLY annoyed i missed the ride! i was on a field trip in norfolk all week, and only got back at 5pm when the ride was comming to an end, and i had a puncture anyway :@ ah well, ill be at the abingdon ride in june shame everyone had disappeared by the time we got to the beach at 8:30 though¬! no fair! i had a great time for the few hours i was there have fun guys!

this might be a stupid question! but where do i put it on my phone? im linked up to my pc using a sony ericsson w810i, and its all drop and drag stuff..... so which file on the phone memory card do i put it>? as i cant find any games folders or anything....

hey guys, after about 7 years on orange, ive taken the plunge and switched over to 02, and taken out a contract phone! on orange, you could always call 150 from a contract phone to see how many minutes were remaining that month on the tarrif, yet on 02, i cant work out how to do this! the 3 people ive spoken to so far on o2 all just didnt think you could which sounds crazy to me! i only took the phone out yesterday, and cant find any info on the website yet, although it does say it takes 24hours to update, so that figures but is there not a number i can call to check how many minutes i have left ? how can i keep track of if im about to go over my monthly limit at all? do i just have to reset my call timers on billing day and make sure i dont go over myself? cheers Nick

asking what? you asked what car id choose for evading the law.... id choose mine, based on the fact that ive done it before and it did a damn good job good enough for the copper to knock on my door 5 minutes later and not be able to do a thing about it because he hadnt been able to catch me and therefor had no PROOF that it had been me driving it...... me? speeding? surely not.

for a grand, you really should be able to pick up a mini thats relatively sound, itll take a bit of searching that could get annoying, but its entirely possible! a stage 1 998 could quite easily get 50mpg with no trouble at all! i can get 42mpg from my 100bhp 1380 on a run! so a 998 stg1 with the std 2.95:1 fd wil go forever on a tank! if you live in a low risk area, and have pass plus, expet to pay around £500-£600 for the first year, insured as a std 998. im now paying £650 3rd party on my mini, 3rd party, with all the mods declared. so im happy so there is hope!!!! get a mini, nothing beats them! as for times to 70mph, i have no idea. mine will hit 70 in under 9 seconds, which is quick enough, it hits 60 in just under 7 seconds, which is still slow, but does the job! as for space inside, i could get 2 full stock bikes in the back of mine, with two people in, and with the bucket seats, so space really isnt too much of an issue! you can also easily fit a boot rack or roof rack and have no hasstle anymore

hate to say it, but with £700 to play with, id just go out and buy a polo GT, you may even find one with decent alloys on for £700 or sell the saxo and buy something all together better! the problem with sticking big posh wheels on shopping carts, is that you can still see the tiny brakes through the wheels, and that really does look stupid. ive seen a 1.1 106 with 17's on and the rear drums and front discs looked SO small through the thin spoked rims, it was just rediculous! on a slightly more helpful note, dont waste too much cash! you can get some REALLY sweet wheel and tyre packages for under £500 if you shop around, and dont want some mega silly big rims..... also search the 2nd hand market, you could refurb a set of alloys yourself, and shod them with part worn tyres for about £120ish.......

wasnt that the system used on the XR3i back in the 80's? made by bosch? PERSONALLY, for the noise increase you get, id never fit a Cone type filter or induction kit to an every day road car with a small engine, as the performance gain is so pathetic compared to the noise increase, its jsut not worth it! just use a K&N replacement element. however, if i were to stick the standard metro airbox and filter ontop of my 1380, i could imagine id get a serious drop in performance, although the imense noise from the engine itself and the straight cut gears would still deafen me..... lee- i seem to recall you saying you were going to run megajolt on your new motor in the capri? are you planning on having a fiddle with the maps yourself on a laptop? ive got a few maps for various mini engines of various states of tune. ill be fitting megajolt either this winter to my current 5port motor, or next year when i get the 16v head. im tempted to run the serial cable inside the car, and have a fiddle myself and have a few different maps to load up for different types of use! whats it cost to setup megajolt on a ford engine? im imagining its pretty cheap, seeing as it uses the ford EDIS coil pack and the std ford 36-1 trigger wheel..... to run it on a mini you need to have the crank damper machined, or find a way of attatching a sierra trigger wheel onto it

its been questioned how much difference it makes running pipes from inside the arches to get a cold air feed.... a mate of mine set up some electrical kit under his mini bonnet to check this out, and he found that above 15mph the temperature at the back of the engine bay (where the air intake is on a mini) was no different to the external temperature, proving that it is utterly pointless on a mini, unless your after a ram air effect like they have on miglias, which will only REALLY come into play at very high speeds.... if you have EFI, it will generally compensate for the filter by fueling it slightly more, as the lambda sensor will detect that it is running leaner, so in thoery, an increase could occur, but as lee said, you need to get it out as well! on a carbed car, itll just lean it off, as there is nothing to actually increase fueling in accordance, so it would need to be setup on a rolling road to get the best results. personally, we run K&N replacement panel filters in our cars (audi 1.9tdi's) and tehy do appear to give a much more lively and responsive engine, although i highly doubt ultimate power is any different. on my mini i run a K&N cone, and the noise it makes is gorgeous, although id hate that kinda noise on a slower car, theres really no point in having the noise if its not got the pace to match, so just stick a K&N replacement panel filter in and be happy theyre dead cheap on ebay!
