  1. do you mind dear chap? my lovely lady is reading this as we speak! it is her thread afterall!
  2. you gay. iim home the weekend afterwards..... you best not come up with some 'im too poor to come up' excuse once im home you homo homie......... il be waiting adamiss.
  3. now now darling.... ive just not spent all that much time with those little kids bikes on a serious note..... is the tryall freewheel particularly wide due to the imense number of pawls in it?> otherwise, i dont see how freewheels could fit on a 127.5mm bb..... or does the inside of trh freewheel sit OVER the bottom bracket slightly? its great having my own mechanic now i just sat in my chair surfing TF while tori fitted her bottom bracket and headset
  4. personally, i wouldnt want to change back to a hope hub after 4 years riding kings.... theyre just in a TOTALLY diffrent league IMO almost all the pro2 hubs ive had a ride on have been known to skip, some badly, and we have seen numberous hub shells split clean in half..... dont bother, its like selling your ferrari to buy a ford escort..... both may be good cars, but really? youd have to be mad!
  5. new calliper matey, if you look at it its all one cast alloy unit, so you need a new slave im afraid.
  6. bb7 every day the old style hope mini just doesnt cut ot for todays crazy front wheel orientated riding styles. i know, i had to go back to one recently, and it just wasnt up for it. also had a hope mono trial for a while, and now im back with an avid
  7. i could do, but the pedal body is cracked down the line of the axle, so after a few large dropgaps the pedal body will just snap off.... the Slim jims i had lasted 3 short rides, before i failled a tap and caught the leading edge pins on the underside and ripped out the bridge between the two pins. so they were dead. and chris, v12 mag ti's are about THE worst pedal for me ever..... i BASH pedals a lot, the studs would snap out of the mag bodies in no time, and i find v12's generally uncomfortable! i want something like the older atomlabs but with bearings that will last..... im currently borrowing a set of year old vps which are SHATTERED, yet the bearings still run fine..... sealed bearings seem to be wank.
  8. i cant stand V8's or V12's either! theyre just uncomfortable and hurt my feet. the fixed pins in the V8's always die on me, and V12's are just a nasty small shape. once ive got some cash ill look into some nicer pedals, but for now, i think ill be running VPs!
  9. hey guys. im having some lame pedals problems lately. ive used atomlab aircorp pedals for the last 3 years, and dont really like the idea of using anything else. but they just dont seem to hold up to my abuse! i had two sets of the older style atomlabs, and they were awesome in most respects, although the bushings didnt last long AT ALL, and within a month or so, they were super wobbly and thats pretty shit. i also found that when the got older the threads holding the stud in began to die. when i got my insurance money from the stolen ashton, i splashed out on an expensive set of 06 aircorps, the super thin ones. bad idea. as with all the other atomlabs ive had the bushings went wobbly in a few weeks, although this time i bodged them by fitting an RB lever seal O-ring in place of the standard spring washer, and this made them feel nice and tight again. on wednesday riding in town my right pedal came off the axle! it turns out the Spring E clip holding them onto the axle had shattered, and the pedal just flew off! on inspecting the pedal, the body is deformed where the axle enters, and a hairline crack has appeared running along the line of the axle all round gayness. anyway: point of this thread does anyone else have problems with expensive pedals? as im seriously considering going back to VP's at £12 a set, as at least when i kill them its cheap to replace... anyone else gone back to super cheapy pedals? was it a good move?
  10. dont be silly joe, loads of people will still be comming itll be awesome!
  11. yea ash, you better come! joes comming down with Si and bessel! and its going to be a massive ride sort your life out
  12. how about trying a longer mod perhaps? you say your shite on stocks, and have a 970wb mod.... try something a little longer, like something around 1020 perhaps. best of both worlds!
  13. id rethink that if i were you robin.... apparently, during the big ashton boom 6 month ago, adam said tartybikes sold around 25, and martyn himself sold 2 or 3! so its hardly the massive production numbers you would think...... i know for a fact that two of them have cracked, probably more..... radfax- it was me that recently went from the ashton to the zenith, and yes, i do muhc prefer it! i was gutted at leaving the ashton, because as mike said, tehy do just feel 'right' but i was jsut too tall for it. i do prefer the zenith though, by a fair bit, my ridings getting noticably better on it as the weeks go by, which hasnt happened for a good few years!
  14. apart from the big CNC crown....
  15. although in reality its a little different. with echo urbans (pretty much THE standard fork for geo measurements) mine is: +30bb, and 1078 wheelbase, so a little longer and higher than stated. it feels PERFECT.
  16. apart from the fact that your about 3 years too late....... whoever said they were weak was full of sh1t, how else would there be loads for sale? the original brisa bars all snapped pretty much, but the elite bars were just about indestructable, i had a set for around 3 years, and sold them on, and as far as i know theyre still going strong! lovely feel to them, basicly the same as the echo flat bars, just with a 28.6mm clamp. if you like flat trials bars, and are offered a set at a good price, then go for it!
  17. having had both, and recently changed from an ashton to a zenith, id say go for the zenith. i loved the ashton to bits, but i couldnt tap it to save my life! i just felt the 1055 wheelbase was fractionally too short for my style of riding, and the listed +20bb height doesnt happen either.... the zenith is a LOAD stiffer, and a lot more inspiring to ride.
  18. awesome man! no fat birds in this one please......
  19. come on pete, theres a limit! pierre, gareth, bigman and I had coffee in your kitchen with your mum and dad at your family home in portishead after the bike show 2004.... dont be silly man, i know you have connections to hope, im not having a go, im saying think before you type.
  20. basicly, i think what dan is trying to suggest, is that once you have been voted a Senior member, you think your better than the normal members. this is of course true, or we would be normal too bloody good point dan, makes a lot of sense. fancy meeting up with biggy and I over xmas to ride?
  21. with norwich union the pass plus halves your first year! my quotes were £997 without pass plus, and then £458 with it. going up to just over £500 for me to pay monthly. some insurers give a smaller reduction, but if you have a small engined car, and its your first year of driving, pass plus makes a MASSIVE difference to your premium
  22. surely it would have been a better idea to get opinions BEFORE buying the frame? as it happens your in luck! take a look in the bike pics forum, there are a fair few in there after the recent rise in popularity. ive got one, and its awesome, not too long, not too short, and the BB rise is perfect. infact, im going to go and ride it now! bye bye
