Donington was great. Really really good day despite a few issues! Jardo was driving well, I was impressed, considering his reputation He and George should both be very proud that they're within a few seconds per lap of our resident stig in his 100bhp mx5 Little clip from the A3 on the day. Running issues all day meant low boost only, and considerably down on usual power levels for low boost even. Still great fun though:

Good result David! you must be very happy with that MiniMart - That's rediculous! When was it MOT'd? Hairdressers - carry on

I didn't have a car at uni in my first year, as they actually made us sign a contract to say we wouldn't keep a car in portsmouth! (due to over crowding!) As soon as I moved into a student house, with parking on the road, I had the car from then on. Wouldn't be without it - horrible idea. There's a name for without cars - peasants

or admit that you're not buying a Porsche, you're utterly sh*te with money, and don't have a penny to your name because you blow it all despite earning more than 90% of people on here. Enjoy life for what it is chap, not what it could be!

Ah jardo, that was a fun evening. I genuinely laughed out loud at the 'strange use of tape' comment Hopefully that's explained above. Also, that's why the end of a tape measure moves, for internal or external start. The theory being, when hooked over something, the end pulls out by the width of the 'end' so it's zero'd at the object it's hooked to. When pressing it into a wall, the end pushes in by the same amount so it's measuring from the very end at zero. When lining up hole centres, it's much easier to read from 100mm as you can be mm accurate, as shown by the seats going straight onto the mounts on the second seat without so much a test fit Good quality seats. I'm impressed! harnesses arn't so great, but are perfectly serviceable for now. In time they will ruin your seats though due to lap adjuster position. I'd look out for an out of date decent harnesses on ebay and keep the passenger one for now as it'll not get much use anyway.

I'm planning on getting the drivers seat in this evening, with / without harness depending on progress. Anything more will be a bonus. Drivers seat in is the bare min for Dony. If it goes well, who knows, but getting the drivers seat in will be a good start.

I might as well stay at home then! it's not being done by half 8, and you won't make your spinning class!

fanx See you later!

That said, I'm still looking forward to ripping the interior out of jardo's S3 and fitting buckets

The term 'race car' annoys the living crap out of me. no racing - no race car! As far as DIY home builds go, my car is about as close to a 'race car' as most will ever get, yet you'll NEVER hear me call it a race car, because I havn't raced it. It's a track car. because it's used on track. that's it's purpose. If you drive it every day to work, it's not a track car either, it's your car that you also use on track sometimes, or maybe it's a track car, and you're an idiot #notaracecar

Wow. that music is pretty offensive.
-
oh wow. that should go on some sort of register.... Not sure which though....
-
Maybe then you'll be as fast as a stock mx5 around Snett300

I don't know about super sensible, you're still a little unstable

You bastards! i was eating a yoghurt watching that 'Flat out' video, just taking a mouthfull at the '200mph caterham in the dark' line. Yoghurt everywhere that video pretty much sums up pre event Jardo, but when it comes to it, on the day, he's usually very sensible which is surprising ADI at Combe on Saturday, really good day. Took Kennard, Manning, Jonny J, Robin, and a load of non TF people out on track. Much fun was had Fitted wets: And the sun came out Fitted slicks, lapped most of the afternoon, rained a bit at one point but didn't stay thankfully. Slicks in the wet were interesting. Bizarrely, the grip levels stayed good, but in your head you KNOW it's only a matter of time ebfore it gets wetter, so you tend to back off a little anyway, just incase it's rained more since the last time around! Car went very well all day. Very happy with it

I noticed that. Interesting change

I love this. You use your economical, modern, and reliable car for short journeys. Then an old, less refined, less economical, and less reliable car for long journeys

Apply said limiter on a straight, gps activated. No danger then in theory, everyone gets cut at the exact same, safe point. Give full power back at the next safe place, again, on a straight. I'm fairly sure all the technology required is already in place for something like that!
-
Are they all 'stock' too Adam? Or are all the cars in the series simiiarly faster than yours? What's their control tyre? Interesting hypothesis. Explains the decent qualifying and not representative race pace.
-
to watch you, of course
-
DC2 or DC5, don't think there is a DC3 Well done on fixing something jardo, saves me having to do it for you teg looks smart. it's crying out for some decent tyres, and some trackday abuse I reckon! Does it have a silly jap type exhaust? or one that'll actually let you get onto some tracks?

Why no validation?

I didn't actually realise it had gone. What did that happen? -
erm, no, it isn't. Any moron with enough money can buy a boat and sail off into the distance 100% legally. That's why, statistically, sailing is such a dangerous sport.

I'm tempted to leave mine on display indefinitely Although it won't mean anything anymore, it'll still feel strangely rebellious driving around in 2022 displaying a tax disc that expired back in '14!
