Calling All Trials Forum Petrol Heads!

does 102lb ft really induce clutch slip oli? if so, i think you need a new clutch i may well be up for this boys and girls...... i reckon i can get into the 15's ok....... is pod much grippier than a normal road? -
crossflow: gasses flow across the head. its really that simple take the mini engine for example, its NOT cross flow. inlet and exhaust manifolds on the back of the head, flows in one side, goes bang, and back out the same side. on a cross flow engine, the fuel flows in one side, and out of the other side. i dont know totally how much difference it makes, but it all aids to the flow of gasses. just about all engines these days are crossflow, although back in the 70's and 80's it was a much bigger deal.

hey guys, my lovely lady is diserting me, and going to france with her mum for the weekend, leaving me nothing to do but ride lots and lots, so i fancy a change of scenery! never been to reading before, but ive heard its pretty awesome. so, sunday morning, me, kennard, and dan walker will be setting off to Reading. no idea where to park or meet, please advise me hoping the locals, joe, martin, steve and neil will be out (plus any others ive forgotten!) so...... anyone up for it? start say 11ish, but where?

ive wanted a limey2 for a while now.... they do sound just perfect geo wise! itll be interesting to see how strong they are though, as we all know the original limey wasnt the toughest frame out there being so light and compy. when funds allow probably some time next year, i want a limey 2, that bike looks perfect!
-
no it isnt. gear ratio is all down to personal preference really, although, that said, MOST people will find 18:17 FAR too easy..... i rode porters ashton with 18:17 and it was stupid..... so light and flicky for gaps, but SO spinny for anything with speed. chris: didnt look at your sheldon convertor, as ive only ever needed my way ive only ever run 170mm cranks, and a 26'' wheel, so i only ever need to work out equivalent ratios for my otherwise unchanged bike, as is probably the case for most people. really wanting to try 18:16 soon with a heatsink bash, but dont know if itll be a TINY bit too easy, i know 18:15 will be too hard

no. maggy M6 fittings clearly ash. not normal maggy M6/M8 fittings
-
id say thats verging on criminal...... the longest ill leave a chain on my bike is 2 months, after that, theyre just not safe!
-
no it wont. you will need different fittings, as dave told me today. apparently, the echo CNC brake has m6 fittings all round. so you will need some slightly different fittings for the goodridge hose to fit

same man! on rides i just tend to sit around talking about cars these days! i still love riding, for the fun of it, but i dont think ive seen more than 10 threads in trials chat that ive found interesting this year...... talking about bikes is just dull these days, although riding them is still fun i sometimes wonder why i still ride, when im at my same level ive been at for about 3-4 years, and people around me just keep getting better...... meh. it keeps me (slightly) fit, and gives me something to do
-
and probably less fun, of course, neither will be as rewarding to drive as a standard mini.........
-
no tomm, no he doesnt, at all. sorry mate, but if you think a mini is no fun, you are clearly clueless..... just buy a corsa and leave us alone.
-
you dont need a convertor or anything confusing like that at all Bren! just divide the front cog by the rear...... 22:19 = 1.158 22:18 = 1.22 22:17 = 1.29 20:18 = 1.11 20:17 = 1.17 20:16 = 1.25 18:15 = 1.20 18:16 = 1.125 16:14 = 1.14 thats all the most common gears i can think of, and its far easier than using a silly convertor! personally, from those, i think the best are 22:19, 20:17, 18:16, and 16:14. they all seem about right.

i didnt make it up, things like missed direct debit payments do go against your credit rating. they effect your behavior score, which everyone has with their bank, and the banks generally will not tell you about. your behavior score is based on how you use your money, missed payments, constantly near the bottom of an overdraft, constant payments out with nothing going on, they all effect behavior score, likewise, mobile phone contracts, car insurance direct debits, regular payments in and out of a similar level, all help the behavior score. when you go to your own bank for a loan, its this behavior score that they use to asses if your a safe bet for a loan. i was told all this when i was refused a student account when i started uni, and i was showed on screen how my behavior score had risen and fallen over the past few years, and how it had dropped MASSIVELY when i missed direct debits. i was told this made me a high risk customer. its true the insurance company will just try to take the money again in 10 days time, but the original debit request is still rejected. which goes against you.

mate, this is what parents are for im afraid, its a tough one to swallow, but you have no choice. ''mum, dad, i f**ked up, im broke, i need £100 or i get a bad credit rating, i can give it straight back to you in 5 days'' either that, or ask a GOOD mate...... really, dont miss a payment, it fooks things up, my insurance company got shitty when i did, and the bank charged me £38 the 3 times it happened too! then refused to give me a student account with overdraft based on my bad credit rating as a result of missed insurance payments!

haha, what a tune! quite definately the song of the weekend no matter how gay it might be. shame darrens camera angles are a little suspect.... they make the big drop gap look TINY, when its infact HUGE! still, awesome little vid darren, really captured the feel of the weekend perfectly

you comming down tomorow fred? with rich and the rest? meet up with rich, and mission over to mine its going to be a mini TF car meet
-
odd that you have a sony changer adam..... audi OEM changes are panasonic i believe..... personally matey, id get yourself another concert radio on ebay. i know reconditioned ones which are sold as having a new volume control thingybob go for around £80. mY concert is the original unit in my car on 136k and its fine, mums concert is on 190k and its also fine...... get a standard new one and itll last as long as you have the car im sure! also, your unlikely to find one with an aux input as well as the CD changer control in your price range, which means you ideally want a tape setup to go with your crazy in car handsfree bodge remember if you go aftermarket, you will need to get the facia plates to bring the slot down to standard DIN size. theyre also on ebay, pretty cheap.
