  1. yea man, NEED to get out..... still yet to be with ANYONE else when ive made a sidehop to rail yet, let alone get it on camera! so that needs filming for a viddy at some point. got so many decent lines unfilmed in portsmouth still, sunday was a good laugh, a fw more like that and ill try and make another vid SO nearly went for this drop gap too.... on the edge, it looks REALLY do-able, i just dont trust my king enough to go for something that big these days ended up about to gap, then woke up to reality and dropped off it, hence the VERY dodgy position in the pic
  2. Depends on what sorta thing your lady is into, but i bought my lovely lady a nintendo DS lite for her last birthday, for those times on the train travelling to uni, and for killing time between lectures next year now im not around at uni. i was a little unsure if it was suitable or not, but thankfully, shes played on it literally EVERY day sinse, and that was 2 months ago it went down REALLY well. the obvious usual is jewellery and that kinda thing, but Tori doesnt wear stuff like that often (shes lovely enough already!) so i tried something different
  3. woot. cheers biggy! didnt end up getting too much great stuff on film, but some of it was OK thanks for filming and editing, and showing the good people of trials forum that i do still ride my bike every once in a blue moon! think ive ridden it 4 times this month infact!!!! woot. need to loose some weight, and stop drinking and go to bed earlier so im not dead after work. ill buy a camera, and get to work on a proper vid! thanks ads. top man Prawnuss the Engineer.
  4. 36 miles each way for me, totalling 72 a day..... costs just over £10 per day, averaging around 32mpg currently. tends to take me an hour, due to the mega traffic jam at the end (which my job is infact to sort out!-bypass scheme)
  5. monitoring the temperature through my air con screen (genuine readings, not adjusted), my temp actually starts to go back up again after about 5-6 minutes idling. provided you take it easy for the last mile or two of driving (which lets face it is no chore) then a simple 30 seconds once parked for the turbo to actually stop spinning is plenty. your not letting it run to let the whole lot cool down, as its not going to cool massively, the main thing is not to cut the oil feed whilst the turbine is still spinning, which after 30 seconds or so, it wont be. 1 minute is plenty on your car. lets face it, its very rare you pull up and leave the car STRAIGHT away. if im going riding i let it run until ive got my bike out, if im going to work i let it run until ive put my tie on, tucked in my shirt, and got my pen/glasses sorted. if im just going to see mates, by the time ive got my phone in my pocket, turned off my bluetooth headset, and found my wallet, its been ticking over a minute or so. its a nice idea, but utterly pointless really.
  6. someone been to KFC for lunch>? wheres that drop gap to the log al? dont recognise it.....
  7. sadly..... after some of the things ive said in the pro2 threads before, it looks like in about to eat a large slice of humble pie. im buying a Pro2. i still dont think its as well engineered as a king, and its obviously nowhere near as complicated. but thats half the beauty of it. with kings, you seem to get lucky, or you dont. my last king was on my bike for 4 years, and in that time it NEVER skipped once, it was 100% perfect, and i trusted it with my life. when that got nicked, i got a single speed hub. big mistake. i still look after it, but it just doesnt seem to be as reliable as my old disco, its skipped on me badly once, which scared me, and i no longer really trust it...... also, i fancy an echo rim, so a 32h hub is needed, and theres not a chance im paying for another king hub! Pro2 on order for me in the next few weeks!
  8. mate, clive hates the idea of making anything that rides even half nice...... normal leesons ride like hippos, richs thumper is the best riding leeson ive ever been on, and if im being nice, id compare it to a saracen xess. the thumpermay look odd, but its a step in the right direction for leeson at least. cars these days have starter motors, because people got sick of winding them up with handles on the crank. one day leeson will catch on. itll be a while yet though. in richs defense, his rear disc DOES suit him, although rich couldnt setup a rear V for shit, the disc just suits his riding style better. good to see the bike suiting your style again rich! look forward to a plymouth ride soon! top job.
  9. s'wrong guys...... its the OTHEDR way round. partz, your first bit is right, a 180 front setup will run on a 160mm rear disc. a 203mm rear brake setup would need a 223mm front rotor to run up front. take any brake, of and given size. for rear fitting, that calliper will always need a 20mm smaller disc, than if used up front. this is of course for IS standard mounts. the rear disc mounts are closer to the axle than the fronts.
  10. nice man! something quite chilled about it, and generally fun looking! nice editting, and the different style of music really worked!
  11. perhaps not, although im sure the baliffs would have no worries about comming to your house to get it saves you the bother of having to sell it !
  12. tough one danny, just read my post, and it sounds a little harsh..... but i think technically, you are in the wrong. just telling her to f**k off isnt going to do anyone any favours is it. legally speaking, i think you are at fault, meaning you are obliged to pay for the damage. disputing the repair cost is pointless, as damage to cars ALWAYS costs more to repair than you would think possible...... try going at it sensibly, perhaps offer her £100 as a good will gesture or something?
  13. if you ran into the side of my car and left a dent that was 'only' about 6'' long and 1/2'' deep, id make you pay good a proper. chances are even if it can be 'popped' out there will be ripples left, or paintwork damage when you examine it closely. at the end of the day, id give bennefit of the doubt to the lady in the car. riding a bike around like a loon doesnt tend to have such serious consequences as driving a car..... chances are, if she was pulling out of a SCHOOL, onto a MAIN ROAD, she wasnt going that fast. you on the other hand, were illegally speeding along the pavement, and failled to slow down appropriately when approaching the junction, who cares if it 'looked' clear? it obviously wasnt, you need to be ready for all eventualities. that means slowing down when your approaching what sounds like it must have been a blind gate. learn from your mistakes. because you were at fault.
  14. very nice ash! your certainly improving at a silly fast rate! watching that vid inspired me to go out and try sidehoping onto that rail you did. was so scared of it at first, but then though 'if kennard can do it......' nailled it! so thanks matey! keep up the good work!
  15. awesome man! you guys are all improving really fast its amazing how good darren has gotten in the last year, just not fair as for lab rat on a stock..... it does seem to really suit him! the kids getting too good....... looking forward to getting back to a plymouth ride soon!
  16. no can do lads last exam is friday the 8th.
  17. Frenchman is going, he will be a security guard there
  18. where abouts in Dav do you work steve? my girlfriend lives in long buckby, the right turn at the crossroads where you go left to Dav from the A5. seems to be loads of engineering firms based around Daventry.
  19. 3 sets of forks in the space of 3 months says im not..... gone down to a 180 and my forks have been fine for a while now...... personally, im like dave, ive never had the amazing brake so many people seem to get with the avid. i think its because i tend to really trash it on gaps to front, and i do weigh a good bit more than most..... also, ive always found they glaze up BIG TIME if used to slow down at all!
  20. i love deng stuff. my bike is covered in deng stuff i will probably always have loads of deng stuff on my bike the new bars still suck though. theres just not enough sweep to them, they feel so flat its horrible. why make them flatter when the old style were so great, and so popular? i want new bars, but dont know what to get now, the new Zoo bars are just too flat really.....

    F1 Today

might as well sit on the side of the M25 for 2 hours.... theres more over taking, and more accidents. edit: might as well watch it though its raining, and i dont fancy finishing off the head gasket on toris metro in the rain
  22. looking through the settings on mine, i dont think you can im afraid it annoys me too, that when it gets near full you get the whole 95% full reminder, then it fills and you have to delete loads to get a message through.
  23. yea man, MAF failure is the most common fault on the VAG range, and to make things worse, it wont show up on a diagnostics using VAG COM or vw/audi scanners. this is because they dont 'break' as such, they just start giving questionable flow readings, which make things start running funny.
