ah yea, 2860RS typically I think, ~330-340 capable on a 1.8. Probably similar on a 1.6
-
Ooooooooooooooooh, turbo Vtec. What's the turbo? looks like a T25 flange, go I'd guess at a GT / T28 of some sort?
-
ouch, thats some serious money for fuelling! I doubt anyone on here has an direct experience of HPFP tfsi setups, but I've heard of several people just doing the internals for the cheaper route and not having issues at ~360bhp. I have the same billet compressor wheel as yours in my ko4 hybrid, it's beautiful! Here's a picture of it you probably won't have seen when you open your bonnet, it's well hidden:

I was being light hearted dude I was more than happy with our deal, but would genuinely like to be able to find turn arounds that make quick cash like that! Glad your car isn't broken, all I remember is a post saying it was having issue, then nothing more about it. Jardo does have a point in some ways, obviously he's gone way over the top in making it and insulting everyone, but there is a point deep down there somewhere. Everyone has their own agenda these days, they post their own pics and don't bother replying to others, and I mean everyone, myself included, we're all guilty of it at times. There IS a lot less activity in here, I rarely write updates specific to trials forum, but when adding to my audi-sport build thread, before clicking submit I'll often Crtl+A Ctrl+C and then paste it onto here, just incase anyone cares. The thread lacks pictures, or interaction, someone posts their own pic, next person ignores it totally and asks their question, next person to come along replies to the pic posted, and the question is lost. shit happens. I guess it's not a car forum though at the end of the day..... 1st world problems and all that

well why don't you start spamming about your broken sweedish soot chucker, or about how you buy engines from one friend then sell them onto another friend for twice the price, we could all learn a trick or two from you if you shared the secret I don't know George, people don't seem to care when you do something different either. I sometimes just think I'm writing to myself.... I don't know George, people don't seem to care when you do something different either. I sometimes just think I'm writing to myself....

2 things you don't know the head is warped, just that something is wrong. And why would you rebuild a brand spanking new head Glad you're getting it sorted Because nobody else seems to have anything to say about their cars? Can't blame Jardo for being the sole poster of car pics, I have WAAAAAY more pics than I actually post up on here, but I tend not to bother any more, because it strikes me that nobody really gives a shit. Even my build thread on ASN gets very few replies now, still several hundred views every single day, but because the development of the car has now gone way beyond 'typical' stuff that other users could see themselves doing to their own cars, nobody ever bothers to reply any more, aside from comments like 'cool' and single lines. Same case on another build thread on ASN for the most amazing meticulous GT30 powered S3, it's beyond what many others would attempt, so actually gets less discussion than a 'which air filter' thread. Shame really.

Not in any official capacity, but I promote them and the car is well known, and I don't pay anything for the mapping, so everyone is happy Niki calls it 'promotional work'

It was once upon a time, now it is merely the controls for the windscreen demister and the heater on those cold 5am starts for trackdays far away!

Had to share this, a chap on Northloop has just finished building it, and it's absolutely incredible. Super light mk1 Golf, with a 1.9 20vt running some form of Borg warner EFR turbo, 370bhp and around 800kg: In other news, I finished off my ext install: Big thanks to Jonny for the orange labels www.ubersticky.co.uk ! New sunstrip on the new windscreen too, how I hate installing these. argh. Robin popped round last night too, we went for a drive to test the car, had some coffee, was fun

The problem Jardo, is that even though its not your car, you still manage to be a dick about it. Simon is pretty chilled about the whole thing. It is what it is, he's not pretending its the greatest thing on earth. He's just happy he's got a fast car for not much money. Accept it for what it is, and quit comparing it to everything.
-
As I said, you're not an engineer Jardo, so it really is pointless arguing it with you, as you'll never get it. I have no interest in carrying on the debate though, so OK, it's the best in the world. George would be less likely to know, granted, but I have recieved pictures of most meals you eat dude, a picture every single time you park your car in a new location, and on average 3 incomming calls every day, every single day since you were 17. I even know when you shit, because you tell me stuff I really don't want to know. If you've driven ANYTHING interesting, ever, even a milk float, you've told me about it within 15 minutes. You can't deny that.....
-
It isn't driven daily you goon, and I doubt its done more miles than I have on myself up. Why is everything compared against mine anyway? Am I that fu*king awesome that I am your bench mark for everything?
-
You're right, Jarrod, but it's a shame, because the world would be a better place for it.... I like Simon a lot, he is a cracking bloke, and the car is nice to drive. However, (I don't expect you to understand this bit) anyone of an engineering aptitude simply could not accept this: 2'' mild steel box section, mig welded to a pair of flanges as a manifold adapter? seriously? mild steel box?!?!?!? Not to mention the downpipe, which has no bends, only 15mm strips of straight pipe cut and migged together again. As I said, I like Si a lot, but there are certain parts of that car that just make me sad. If it was driven properly, on a trackday, I highly doubt it'd make it to lunch time.
-
Finally, something we all agree on Simons car is most impressive to be in, it drives very nicely, and produces some pretty extreme figures. That doesn't make the build any less ugly though.

I think you're a massive homo myself.,

J-Drizzle is off to R-tech today, so I'm going to pre-empt some rambling about the awesomeness of a man named Gower, and a car named Ron that 99.6% of you will never see. Philler thinks it's named Ron because it's Burgandy, but in actual fact it's short for Ronald MacDonnald, because you'd have to be a clown to drive a totally standard A3 with 300bhp
-
it wasn't a typo, it was an error. 2 and 0 are nowhere even close on a laptop or phone keyboard

You're right you know alex. That megane does sound awful, and doesn't look anywhere near as fun as yours, although is undeniably quick. I'd say it looks quicker than a stock 250 though, and sounds more raucous too. Probably just got a centre box delete and a decent map on it or similar. Who knows.
-
Any chance of a link to the onbaord from the megane? There were one or two points in your clip where. Felt a fwd car would definitely be quicker, around the twisty bits, you seemed hampered y your power, then when you tried to power through it just got lairy. In a fwd, you'll struggle for traction just as much, but when you nail it, although it'll spin up it'll still be pulling in the right direction. Still thought the track section looked fantastic though. I swear at one point you went for the gear lever and it wasn't where you were expecting it to be due to flopping around
-
Absolutely loving this as always, I'm re-quoting the vid as well, because anyone who hasn't watched it, needs to! This megane: are you sure it was anything even close to stock? 320bhp doesn't sound very stock, or rally slicks, perhaps a little more worked than the guy was letting on? Have to ask about the gear lever though, is that play in the engine mounts? or just the linkage?
-
as I said, and you've all ignored. It's written by a moron. the end.
-
I guess the idea is to catch people out. I get 50, again using BODMAS. However, I would put forward the notion that it's the question that is badly written, not the people working out the answer. No moron would write 7+7/7+7x7-7. That's idiotic. The correct question should be 7+ (7/7) + (7x7) - 7 If written correctly, I doubt anywhere near the same percentage would get it wrong.

there's a set of VAG57.1mm centred spacers in my garage mate, but I can't for the life of me remember if they're double drilled or not for 5x112. I'll look tomorrow night when I get in, if they are I'll send them up.
