  1. But then you'd be driving a civic type R The search continues!
  2. what often happens is that people replace very old, very knackered OE parts for very slightly uprated brand new parts (ebc greens for example) and experience a dramatic increase in braking performance. they then decide that EBC greens, for example, must be the best thing ever. In truth, this increase is 95% down to having new parts in good condition rather than the knackered old shite, and only a very small gain from the uprated part, if any.
  3. don't get greens. Crap from cold Crap when hot Ultra dusty Worse than standard.
  4. you PAINTED your seats? that's amazing. can't wait to see it in a weeks time
  5. So, yOn tuesday Dad and I entered a little low key Sprint event at Curborough. It was great fun! I set off from home at 6am, and met Dad near Worcester, this was to be the first long trip on the new setup, so everything was crossed! We arrived at Curborough, all very chilled out. it was a very informal day, but enjoyable The morning was spent doing practice runs, then the afternoon runs were timed. First timed run out in the morning was just 0.2s off the class record. The class we'd been put in was 'Road legal over 2.0' (due to the turbo) A good start. Then it rained a lot. Dad didn't want to take it out in the wet, not being familiar with the car, so I just went out and messed around a bit. In the wet: And then mildly moist: I won't lie, I had a moment in that one! We've discovered that the check valve on the servo line is leaking slightly, and for the first few tenths of a second after boost there is no vacuum assistance to the servo, so a quick squirt of powered followed by a left foot brake saw me find the brake pedal ROCK solid with no stopping power at all! I grabbed the handbrake at the last last second to get the back end to drop round, and just kept my foot planted, crisis avoided! Later on it dried up, and I did a 1:25.9, which was fastest in class on the day by 5s, and broke the previous fastest time they'd had in the class by 2.0s as well, which was pretty cool. we were 3rd over all on the day behind a Caterham R500 and a bike engined MK Indy regular. After that, I decided I'd had enough, and as it was drying, Dad had a few more runs. Despite having only 2 runs in the morning, Dads 3rd run in the afternoon was a 1:31.8, good enough for 3rd in class and 5th fastest over all on the day, so bloody good going, considering he had me on board too. We decided to send dad out alone to get a better time. Then he got a bit carried away: I'm sure there was a corner here Dad Really good fun day Just to make things a tiny bit cooler still, after the fun of Mum doing a lap of the Ring in the car last summer, here's a pic of my gran, aged 93, who quite easily jumped into the drivers seat, and was gutted to find she couldn't reach the pedals, or the gear lever! Coolest grandma ever
  6. Cheers dudes! 20st dead in September last year. 14st 10 this weekend Imagine how much that would have cost in carbon fibre it's only because I'm cheap. haha
  7. Cheers dude, much appreciated I realised yesterday, I've been bombinb around in this A3 for over 7 years now. It's kind of part of the furnature, yet so incredibly different to those early days! New turbo setup feeling very very good indeed so far
  8. So much win, and in the best colour. For me, at 21, it came down to this or an E36 M3. I think if I'd gone this way I'd probably still have it. Ah well, shame.
  9. Not enough power Speaking of not enough power, my aamzing megane of love and joy is nearing the end of it's lease. So, to replace 1 soot chucking company car, I have ordered another! And before jardo points it out, the one pictured has the optional 17'' wheels that I refused to pay for, but is otherwise what I've ordered. Zetec S 1.6 TDCI, the only thing on our car list this year in my grade that I'd ever consider having. Not fast, but economical, and will save on tax.
  10. TFSI turbo now in, and engine bay almost complete. just the downpipe left to do when the bits arrive
  11. How dare you speak about pete like that! pete was a legend in his own very brief lunch time
  12. Mine fits great Not my fault if passengers don't do theirs up properly
  13. yay, it's become the 1.8T thread, finally Cool new stuff: 100% stock OEM turbo from an 8P S3 TFSI, mated to my 1.8T. In theory, 380bhp+ capable and will stand the test of time. That's theory of course, we'll find out what it does in a few weeks time when it's up and running.
  14. most of you lot wern't even born in 07
  15. clearly a group wind up....
  16. I did, and for 7 years before that.
  17. Daft question, but how is it possible to be 1st over all and second in class? Surely the other way round?
  18. I'm confused, I've been out of the trials game for a fair old while, and I have no clue who you are! From what I heard you say to Kennard it sounded like I should do though Sorry chap. Whatever you've done to your leg though, i wish you all the best for a speedy recovery Glad you still enjoyed the weekend
  19. I was only there for the day today, but I can safely say, best ride in YEARS for me! Fecking loved it! So good to see everyone again!
  20. I'll throw the tuppaware on that and see what happens!
  21. you too man! Got some new ADM pads and grips to fit at lunch time today, then I'll go for a trial bounce after work tonight and make sure we're good to go This might be a REALLY odd question, but is there a microwave at Radical bikes I could use to heat up my lunch? haha.
  22. Morning chaps, obviously I'm a little late to this party, and being at work don't have time to read back thruogh all 9 pages, But is it OK to just rock up on Sunday? i assume there is a daily entry fee, which is cool, just making sure before the 2 hour drive across on Sunday morning! See you all sunday i hope! Prawny
  23. I don't pretend to know anything about wankle stuff, but are you sure that's right? a GT35 comp wheel is a 600bhp wheel! it must flow about 60lbs of air!
