  1. Awesome vid Alex! I didn't realise from the earlier clip that the bumper came off mid way through the run, it looked like it was at the end from the first clip. You lost a LOT of time on that first right hander after the bumper incident, and must have lost a good second or so in total from when it was dragging, sounded terrible and you could see you were uneasy driving until the noise stopped! personally, seeing what you mean about the line, that short cut should have been barriered off and the turn made tighter to avoid such a dangerous / damaging line being taken over that drop. Your series looks rough, my splitter wouldn't last 5 minutes there! haha. Went out with a mate yesterday to take a few photos, this will annoy jardo hugely, because for some reason he absolutely hates the bloke. Sorry chap! Was fun, and used less fuel than going for a long drive Full albumn here: http://www.deutscherbaut.com/audi-leon-track-car-shoot
  2. Alex: I've gotta be honest, I think that's pretty shit course planning to put that line in as part of the track. I'm all for racing, and interesting challenging courses, but that line was not made for cars to cross, and is plain f**king stupid. Anything that's that likely to damamge the cars if they're taking a normal line at normal pace is just bad organisation, a tight chicane before hand to lower speed down the drop would probably have saved things, and given you a championship too Gutted for you.
  3. Good luck mate, we're all very excited to hear how it goes! Is the event tomorrow or Sunday?
  4. I'd bet the 450 is Nm instead of Lbft, that'd bring the potential RPM up to a whopping 1661
  5. Interesting, Something not right there! To have 105hp, the LATEST it could be making 450lbft would be 1225 RPM. Even if it were making that torque at 2000rpm, that'd equate to 128bhp. Still, very cool, just odd figures that don't quite work out.
  6. Both infact Alex! Totally wrong tyre, and first time ever at Spa. We did have some Yoko wets a while back, but sold them on the basis that we had too many tyres, it's always a toss up between the best possible tyre for performance and being road legal to and from the track. if it were traillered, I'd take a set of slicks, a set of wets, and a set of semis as you seem to which is amazing. As is it, we can only take 1 road legal set on the car, and one additional set in the boot, so you make your choices and take your chances! Another little clip, first time ever using slicks:
  7. Dunlop Direzza 03G/s in h1 on there Adam, hardly the ideal wet tyre, but they coped surprisingly well i thought! to be honest, that had been a LONG session, and I was starting to get pretty bad brake judder issues, so concentration was probably lacking a little to say the least! Plus I was too busy marvelling at how much grip the scooby had on full race wets with 4wd!
  8. I'll be leaving the standard Eco tyres on the company car, it makes the handbrake far more useful in the snow than grippy ones
  9. A few clips from Wednesday. Me driving, out for a quick session before lunch with Emily, AndyP's girlfriend as pax: A lap with Ian H, brief appearance from Floyd at the end, followed by a complete talent fail and apology from myself And a clip of BigAl venturing out into the rain, considering Dad drives the car about 3 times a year, and hadn't driven it at all since the last round of upgrades, I think he was doing bloody well
  10. Bloody nasty crash adam, very lucky indeed! Alex - Good luck man, really really hope you do it, you deserve it! Pauly - good skills! Little pic from Spa
  11. Little clip from Saturday
  12. Mine's not used Daily Alan, but it is built with road use in mind and a few compromises as a result. Bills Ibiza is a Castle Combe Saloon car racer, they're basically unlimited in terms of engine and suspension mods, but they have to retain a standard silhouette and list 1A tyres, the best of which are AD08 semi slicks. I think Bills is just under 1 ton, and 420bhp on it's lowest setting, with 600+ on full chat although I think Bill stayed on low boost. Was absolutely awesome fun though Thanks for the pics Robin
  13. Yesterday BigAl and I headed to Audi Driver international at Castle Combe. ADI is run as a typical Castle Combe sessioned day, but tends to be FAR quieter than the action days, and we were lucky enough to get in on a trade and track access pass through a friend, so basically had open pitlane lapping all day The day started off SOAKING wet, we were running on Dunlop 03G's, so not ideal, was pretty slippery (and slow!) It dried out a bit, so BigAl headed out, this is just a short clip with an appearence from Gurds at 1:16 Poor old ABF breathing a little heavily - goes bloody well though with a blower on it After lunch I fitted the yoko slicks, after carrying these all the way to Spa and back to not use them, I was determined to try them! I was impressed! And another little clip from later in the day, following Bill in the infamous Badger5 ibiza race car: Got a few more to add later of BigAl driving on the slicks in the dry, Also saw Stumpy there, the S4 looking gorgeous as always! All in all, top day. it was a really nice change to get some decent clear track at Combe and do more than just a few sessions so you can really get into the groove
  14. I sure do Dave. Whilst I've not got the access of knowledge for anything as in detail as what you do, I spent a fair bit of time trying to make sure it was actually going to do something. The effects on track are very instantly obvious, turn in at speed is far sharper, and very high speed stability is much much improved also. All round, massive success. Saw Robin and Tic today at Combe, had a really top day! Got to take Robin out for a few laps, Had hoped to take Tic out but the day was ended earlier than I had expected.
  15. Had a mental week, Spa weds, then Combe today. Will write more later. Little clip from Combe today:
  16. Hahahahahahahahaha. I love you guys. Robin, I'm just being mean, but the steering wasn't great before, it let down the rest of an otherwise awesome car, so great news it's improved it LOVE the rocco Jardo: you're a Mong. Haha, you knew they were fat as hell, should have removed the spacers broseph!
  17. Slight? Haha, I guess rick Waller is slightly fat, and you put a slight dent in that old red golf 90 degrees of free play around centre wasn't slight Over the moon that it's cured it though was the only thing I didn't feel comfortable with on your car
  18. Flat floor is next up Alex then a rear diffuser following that
  19. I might have to give up my trips to sainsburys because of the splitter due to a few speed bumps, but on the whole I think it'll be manageable. I've been up and down a few bumpy roads in it this morning and not yet touched it on anything. This morning I raidsed and levelled the car up, it had been sitting 3mm low on front left for a while, so I raised the front right 5mm and the front left 8mm to get it nice and level and a tad higher, I also raised the back 5mm to suit, then went off to have the tracking done. This has given me a clear 75mm under the splitter all round as planned. Down to Pro tyre, and as expected the tracking was slightly out, uneven and toe out causing a left pull. Sorted Camber needs work, but that's a job for after Spa
  20. It's going o. The ferry Seamons, ill ram the f**ker on until it fits. I full expect some splitter - floor contact, so I made these:
  21. Tested. Nothing fell off Happy Sorry Dave
  22. those look like WTCC 240-610 Wets Alex? I'd be keeping them myself, a known quality, can you afford to risk your championship on an unknown tyre gamble?
