Top figures there Georgos. Torque curve looks particularly good. Quite different to how mine was. Must be very nice on the road What are you other map options like?

Do you cover the front brake lever when tapping?

technically, if it's still spinning, there will by a gyroscopic effect of some sorts which will help keep you upright! -

Interesting topic Alex. Oddly, I do a bit of both. for 95% of my riding, I'll cover the front brake, taps, gaps, everywhere. if I'm really struggling with a big tap, or a big static gap, I'll not cover the front brake and hold the bar death grip on that side. Usually does the trick and gets me up / across something I was previously struggling with -
Properly happy for you Alex! Is the engine still reasonably stock? so around 320bhp or there abouts? or it it modified much? I don't remember. I know that a good healthy evo really does fly though, power right to 8k is addictive! OMP Targa 330 for me, meets all the above requirements Ignore the silly sticker, it was a piss take

that guy doesn't fit in that car safely He must be a giant! I think you'll do well Alex, your off road escapades in the Justy will serve you well for this one!

Noooooooooooo, it happened again!

Personally, I'd say that's f**ked. In something that's going to spin at around 100000 rpm, I'd want it mint too. Shaft and bearing face don't look that great, and I'd say the turbine damage is a result of thrust bearing failure and spinning on the back plate of the CHRA. Usually, wheels are bead blasted when a turbo is rebuilt to get them like new again.

Looks great again! Just how we love it

Post race cooling airs it appears! Loads of the cars had something, pre made to seal against the air intake with some form of battery pack and electric fan rigged up.

Ah, I'd forgotten it was an Evo Alex. I guess with twin vanos that explains the epic lack of power when they fail So, Mowgli and I went to Thruxton on Sunday to watch the BTCC. it seemed only right that we went in the A3 of course If you look really closely, you can just about make out George Michael in the passenger seat, that was the music sorted for the drive there Could we look any more dodgy cruising down the A303 like this? Parked up in the field, and seemed to get lots of attention from people walking into the paddock: I came back later in the day, and found a family stood around having a good look at it. ''Look Michael, it's got a front spoiller just like the Touring cars'' ''That's not a spoiler Mum, it's a proper plywood Splitter just like the Touring cars!'' Made my day Within about 4 seconds of getting through the gates, i had 'wing envy' with an merc A45 demo car at the entrance. Interestingly simple wing mounting system on this one, although very secure still: Lukey appeared to be enjoying himself: My wing envy continued throughout the entire day! After all 3 races, instead of sitting in the traffic trying to leave, we headed back into the paddock, where all the cars were sat in the pitlane whilst the teams cleared away their kit. This gave us a good chance to have a real snoop around all the cars Gorgeous seat in Matt Neals civic. I think I've seen one similar somewhere before.... These things were an absolute work of art inside: Check out how the tunnel has been widened to allow a more central driving position for weight distribution: All of them were just awesome: I had a good look over Andy Jordans civic too, absolutely stunning in the flesh. The level of prep on all these cars is just fantastic. Properly loved the stickers on the steering wheel too: So much so that I had a mess about with some spare stickers I found in my door pocket this evening Feeling well and truly in the mood for it, I went out for a proper thrash yesterday evening. Bank holiday Monday, ~370bhp to lay down, through Dunlops finest road legal rubber, on Hampshires quiet country roads..... What more could I possibly ask for? Just need a steering wheel hook now so I can hang the wheel on the wall along with my other 'artwork'

Might I suggest that if you've been driving a 160bhp 3.0 m3 that your luck ran out a while ago Hope it brings the car back to what you want it to be mate Looking forward to the next round of in-car vids!
-
yay for bodywork! there's a reason I pay other people for that crap, or leave it all together! All fueled up here and ready for Thruxton tomorrow for the BTCC with Mowgli

Evening chaps A little vid from Southampton today made by Bob, final little session of the day on this wall, simple, but great fun! Comedy bush bail at 1:43!

I don't own a ford any more, I sold it I have a company Ford though, known as the Red diesel Race car Jardo owns a ford, called Kylie. it's amazing
-
Just to confuse you, his name is Paul. Or Oliver. or a combination of both

Adam - there were many rumours about differences between UK and EU spec federal RS-R's. Apparently, UK spec ones, bought from 'premium suppliers' like demon tweeks were said to be genuine UK spec and full price. The cheaper tyres, like those on MyTyres recently at considerably less money, are said to be EU spec and a harder less grippy compound!
-
They're cool with it because it's the only interesting thing that's happened in Basingstoke since you and I went snow drifting in a 60 year old ford
-
We love kylie. Properly awesome. A3 is pimp too. Will look bad-ass on new wheels yes?
-
Thanks mate I know what you mean, it's much harder to push yourself to try harder stuff when you're alone, nobody to spur you on, nobody to congratulate you when you make stuff, and nobody to call the ambulance when it goes wrong Had a good little bounce last night with Ebby and Adam too: Made that gap straight to rear as well, but stupidly deleted the clip by mistake!
-
My videos suck compared to everyone elses Made this straight to back as well, but somehow managed to delete the video by mistake!¬

I plan to fit these into my air dam, one on each side feeding some back plates I'm going to make up shortly. http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/duct/revotec-rectangular-inlet-duct-stepped-outlet I can't actually see it on my phone screen at all, so it must be pretty small! Are you allowed anything like mine? home made plywood tat of win?
-
Are you still in southampton Dave? if so, I'll come and pick it up really need to get some black tape on there. i need to remake the damn, but I'm reluctant to do so until I've got the inlets for some additional brake cooling ducts I want to add! Adam: that data is awesome, so glad you've found similar to me, and backing it up with numbers is brilliant. Do you have any pics of the splitter you fitted?
-
Good article Adam thanks for that! I spent a fair while researching my splitter before making it, and looked at many others and other DIY attempts. A big flat faced bumper like number 6 in the pic would be nice, but in the absence of a fancy (pikey looking ) bumper I'm happy that mine is really quite effective. I certainly wouldn't want to drive the car on track without it any more! i guess stuff like that is well and truly outlawed in your series?
-
Adam: watched your race vid this morning. absolutely awesome stuff mate, loved the battle with Amy! last lap was just epic Last night I went along to the PistonHeads Pub Club meeting with Andy Lang: Did some grass cutting: And overall had a wheely good time!

haha, I didn't even realise that was in my sig. I didn't write it, i think tori did and it must have been there years
