First off hello guys and girls. Been a few years since I have been on here. I done my back in a few years back and had to stop riding. Used to go by the account bcourt2005. I'm just wondering a couple of questions
1 - what's a good priced decent hydro disc setup for around 100 or less.
2 - any ideas on some nice light curved disc forks , again nicely priced
3 - after some carbon bars anyone know where any cheap ones are going
Any help would be greatly appriciated .
Was waiting for some one to put that. I have all ready looked at google and yell. Was just wanting peoples opinions as some people may know some where a lot cheaper.
Hi there as in the title really looking for some where to get my frame and forks powder coated in the ashford kent area. I usualy spray my frames my self but wanted a change. Any help finding some shops in my area will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I definatly agree with whats just been said. I know a few people that have started with the phase bikes and the cheap onza bikes. I would definatly recomend the phase. Its a wee bit heavy but to be honest if you just want a cheap bike to see if you like trials and to practice on theres nothing wrong with it. My friend has been through quite a few frames but after all of them he decided to go back to a phase 1.2 so cant see them being that bad. And like the person above me said... If you do turn out liking trials then just upgrade parts on the current bike, like getting lighter forks, better back wheel etc. Would also definatly recomend stock (26") seeing as your from mtb background You could allways meet people on rides and see what there bikes ride like to get an idea Well hope this helps you in some way and just keep your eye out on ebay
HI, Well Water bleeds are favoured because They have better braking efficiency but then there is the problem of freezing in the winter so make sure to put anti-freeze in the mix . People use screen wash becasue it is basically water with anti-freeze lol Oil is the original way to use your brakes. It runs really smooth but is rather expensive. Water is probably the better way to go as you can always get to a tap. Water = Free..... Maggie brake fluid = £3.91. Also if your gonna bleed the brakes yourself your going to need This and This
Sorry but i dont agree the phase is light. out of all my mates bikes I think that its the heaviest one I have been on. Having said that they are pretty weak aswell. And I dont know if its heavy just because its was all standard apart from the rear wheel. Aside from the weight I think its an awsome beginers bike to learn on. I would definatly go with an onza though as a fair few of my mates have them and they ride really well and are pretty light and strong or just get validated on here and get a second hand koxx frame or ZOO (have herd zoo frames are pretty light).
hey anyone riding in ashford tonight or fancie riding there? I believe Darren and Chris are. Should be a good lil sesh. will be meeting from 6- 6.30 ish around by closed down wooleys =D
HEY I finaly got my bike back together after spraying it. you cant really see it that brilliant in these pics but it looks sooo good in the sunlight. Sprayed it myself. Also it has a couple of new bits like new stem and bars (thank god) and braided setup for the front brake comments more than welcome oh yer the paint is gloss black with green metal flakes
Ha ha so I miss one capital at least I can spell capital- notice the A not O. Spell checker is helpful on getting validated. Also im not going to argue with you as you was blatantly rude the that new member. Now back on topic lads. Sorry
Ha ha I was woundering why you was not validated yet nad thats probably why. even if that was a pointleess post wasnt it a bit pointless you posting that harsh reply to it???? exactly my point. Think before you post yer? Hasnt really got you on a good start with the forum now has it. Also he probably posted it because he was pleased that it worked I thought it was pretty impressive myself. also if you want some strong glue get gitrock (dont know how to spell it haha) its aeroplane glue haha pretty cheap and i can garentee it will stick like a dream.
Ahh I see, well then an onza would be a pretty good way to go cash wise I would still say just buy an allready built bike then from here or ebay then when ever you get a bit of cash just buy a better bit for it =D thats how I built my recent bike and now its amazing As second hand frames go i would go for GU typhoon, cheap koxx or zhi or something similer.
I have just built a complete sound system witha few mates from college which will be featured in fast car in a couple of months time. we are sponsord by JL audio and Alpine. For anyone who watches pimp my ride.. the people who sponsor them teach us how to do it . the car we built up was a ford escort. We wanted it to look standard but have immense amounts of bass and have a nice paint job as we spray cars on our course. It has 1 of only 10 in the uk flat subs which is a 12" flat sub from jl which is 1200 and a 1200 standard size jl sub built in a custom enclosure sprayed the colour of the car. Also has dynamat proffing in the entire car (keeps sound in) also has custom built door cars which house our JL audio 6" speakers ( dont know the model) sounds damn clear though. For the head unit we have the brand new Alpine IDA-X303. Got the tweeters built into the doors aswell. Sounds truely amazing considered it was built by some newbies from college =D
To be honest mate i wouldnt bother with either. I would probably just get validated on here then buy a decent frame second hand for like £80/100 then just build it up how ever you want it. Will cost about the same as the other ones you stated maybe a tiny bit more but will a much nicer bike plus you will appreciate it more. So just get validated and start looking on here oo and also if you were after a stock my mate had a phase for his first bike and they are actualy quite nice rides and begginers bikes. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=47 will be cheaper in the shops in the high street though. hope some of this is helpfull mate and good luck finding a bike
funnily enough i just sprayed a frame at college. First- Take it back to metal with a 320/ 240 grit sanding paper Second- Go over it with a 500 soft pad to make it smooth Third- Spray on some etch primer ready for the actual primer Fourth- Spray on your High build primer (2 to 3 layers ) Fith- Spray on your base coat ( what ever desired colour ) Lastly- Aplly 3/4 coats of laquer. If you want it shiny leave it like this or if you want it to look matt then go over it with some wet on wet paper Hope this helps dude, this is how you spray an aly frame as i just sprayed my frame on my course at college and it looks awsome let me know if you need any further help
lol i remember a topic on here a couple of years ago about people saying they wont wear a helmet until they do harder stuff but correct me if im wrong but its more dangerous when your doing smaller stuff becvause your still learning and are more likely to fall. anyhoo back on topic lol... I would recomend a try-all pot, cheap and amazingly comfy. Cant go wrong
