Yeah my bro wants to start trials and i want a dual disc mod so. Theres a guy selling an 07 221ti with dual discs. So basically i want to know, would this be an okay bike for an already skilled bmxer to learn on and for an experianced rider to ride aswell. It comes with those monty 28 spoke rims, are they strong enough for someone like me whos not mega smooth all the time or should i look somewhere else. And it comes with a monty rear hydraulic disc, ive never heard of them but are they any good?? Is 600 bucks a good deal even if the bike dont have a fork and needs new tyres. some pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/26419196@N08/ Thanks guys, im new to the mod scene. Ian

try-all, last word, they are the best.

I know that you can get adapters to run a rear disc on a vee bike, its called a brake therapy. Though im not sure they make them for maguras, you could run a ZHI adapter to brake therapy but either way im not sure it would be strong enough for trials in the first place. And rear discs on stocks never feel great from my experience, ive always felt too much flex in the spokes.

damn man, that was pretty sick. My friend matt will shite his pants lol!

check the wiki is has a really good part about this. Also go to a paint store or body shop, those guys are really good bout paint and stuff. The big thing is to just take your time, trust me if u decide to paint your frame now you wont be riding it for at LEAST 2 weeks!!

I would stay away from hayes as much as possible. Their are all really squishy cept the strokers and the lever design might be the worst in the world. BB7 is a way better choice, front or rear. Hope mono trial is orgasmic though, my friend has one on the rear, i hate him everytime i ride it lol.

LOL!! If you use like super soft compound pads then you could do it. Most people who use soft pads use tar though which will put black streaks on the paint. Pretty much the only reason the sidewalla are painted is because its easier then taping it off. Almost everyone grinds it off if their using rim brakes. And if their white you dont even notice lol. Sorry, Ian

Are you people crazy, you live in europe for gods sake the epicenter of some of the craziest death/black metal bands in the world. James has killer taste in music by the way. And yes he is a beast.

Yeah quick regrind and a couple o mins to bed in and its perfect now. I dunno but does anyone have trouble with the rock blue pads, i just cant seem to get the bite i want with them, maybe cuz my grind isnt super hard but i find i always need to use tar. Thanks for the help though, Ian

I just got a set of five-10 basics and i have pretty wide feet and their super comfy. Built specifically for street and trials with a really grippy sole. They look sexy to IMO Cheers Ian

How do u know matt, u from ottawa?? No he came later after the photographer left.
-
Ok so this was the first group ride of the season in ottawa and we took so pics to remember it. And there is a genuinly terrible video that i assembled on photobucket and it sucks lol. So here goes: The shitty vid Me drop gapping to the dirt Nick hits it to the curb thing Small up big tuck, nick showing his flexibility Small dropgap across the path, first time ive ever done it though Nick does it backwards Nick 180 gap across the path Nick rips the first hook of the year

Im pretty sure by bath it he means to do and imersion bleed. Where us physically imerse the whole brake in oil and work the lever to bleed it.

K so i cleaned the rim with chain degreser and then with rubbing alcohol then dried it real good. Hoping it works!! Nope miserable failure. As bad as before!!
-
Ok so basically i decided that i would bring my bike into work and clean it all off. I pulled the chain off and the rear cog and everything and cleaned it all with bike lust. So i put it all back together and adjust my vee pads and jump on the bike and my vee brake had lost ALL power. Before i cleaned it it was working amazing with great power and bite. Now it feels like crap, no bite to speak of and i will pull the lever to the bars and the brake will still slip when i rock. All i did was clean the braking surface with bike lust, some may have gotten onto the pads but i gave them a light sanding also. I have a medium grind with rock blue vees pads and use a hint of tar. Why the f**k to my brakes suck the big one now clean when the kicked ass dirty?? Im so pissed!
-
Sounds good but where the heck do i get these pads in canada, i dont feel like shipping over seas if i can avoid it lol. Cheers, Ian
-
Yeah cuz i dont see how i could have contaminated either the pads or the rotor cuz i was wearn gloves when i up the rotor on so its never been touched, i will try cleaning it in soapy water though. Still if it only takes a little water to make it awsome i dont see how it could be contamination. Either way ill keep pouring water on it and hope she beds in soon. I have the worst luck with bike parts!! Cheers, Ian

Play soccer (u guys call it foot ball) and be a keeper.

So i got my juicy 7 last monday and have ridden everyday since then and the brake still sucked. Then i decided to pour water all over it and the brake suddenly started to be freakin awsome. But after about 10 minutes its power starts to fade and it loses hold, also when its wet it makes a horrible screetch. So basically, will the brake eventually get to the point where i dont need to keep pouring water on it to keep power and will it quiet down a little?? Thanks Ian

Ive got the 07 czar frame with a built in booster but i could get another one if i need it. The brakes feel really nice right now they just dont seem to have the bit they should. Basically im getting that moving the pads lower in the arms will make them feel squishyer but i will get more power??. If so im down with that.
-
Ok, so i have the blue rock pads with metal backings mounted to my zhi maggie to vee adaptors with sd3 arms and an echo rim with medium grind. Basically i cant get my brakes to feel really solid. Like they feel pretty good and they usually hold but when i still have to apply tar a couple of times per ride to keep preformance up. I was wondering, the zhi adaptors move the brake boss about 1 inch lower so i have to mount the pads very high in the rails on my arms. If i made my own adaptors that put the brake on the bottom magura mount so i could put the pads lower in the rails would this have a significant effect on my braking performance?? Thanks for the help, Ian

I use a 160 on the front of my stock. I have a juicy 7 which i just bought last week and sucks even more then my old brake. But as far as i know 160-190 is the size most people use. 203 on the front would be too much i think.
-
Naw man a good friend of mine owns easy bike and he let me ride the frame a little. Its kinda heavy but its like ultra stiff and dont feel like it. The 2 bb shells is kinda funny too. If its on the market i would get one, has super perfect geo and i loved the 2 mins i spent on it.
-
For sure its the dangerboy lever. They arent the longest but its so comfy and the barrel adjuster works really smooth. I find the sd7s tend to clog up a little. Either way its hard to f**k up a vee brake lever lol. Cheers, Ian
