  3. So it was you we saw riding down the bottom of town (Southampton) a couple of weekends ago! We were waiting in traffic heading in an Ocean Village direction and I saw someone on an Inspired wearing a backpack. Might of had a beard aswell....anyway, nice rig dude!
  4. I remember them being impossible to find 9 years ago! Even worse now Im sure! Strange though, over 110 views and only one person comments? I guess you're all to young, or not feeling the love!
  5. Nice to see some love for the oldschool! That was 96/97ish. I wonder where I can find a 12.5 inch black 96 Zaskar frame...
  6. Remember http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7LjW0O3RDY? I always wanted Dave Voelker's tiny black GT Zaskar after watching this. Awesome stuff.
  7. what are you doing with the Aorta frame? Its a stunner!
  8. Yea I was trying to find something Russian but not to much. A red Russian star is about as far as I go I think. I still havnt made up my mind to be honest. Might just go for the clean look.
  9. Im not to keen on the Czar 07 graphics. Its ok, but ut could be better. I was going to desticker and go all white but then I thought Id just try and make my own graphics... So far Ive done two, a regular design with brackets either side. Dont know why but I like them. The other is a bit of fun with Leatherface involved! Edit/ Not to sure on this one yet as it looks a little messy...I like the red star though... Ill post more when I get the chance to design them. Thoughts?
  10. Ok Im guessing Spar means Train Station walls, ruins would be opposite Red Funnel. Asda is pretty self explanitory.........wheres the loading bays?!
  11. I might have a spare set since I have two sets of Fatty R's and Im only using a disc on one set. Ill have a look.
  12. Im a T.O (Technical Operator) for BBC Oxford. Ive been in TV for just over 3 years now, daily I do studio cameras, sound and operations. At least once a week Im out on the road filming and often providing live camera into the programme. Very occasionally I get to film the fun stuff, rigging Giovanrdi's BTCC winning car and filming him ragging the life out of it at Thruxton (He also took me out and I almost filled my pants at 135mph aquaplaining into a bend, in the rain). Rigging a Radical SR8 and puking after four laps round Silverstone. Hondas F1 Launch....blah blah blah. Its all good fun. Before that and during Uni I was a freelance music photographer, I was sick of chasing money round Bristol, London, Bournemouth and Southampton so I decided I would rather have a regular monthly wage and began working at BBC South in Southampton.
  13. I saw you all walking as I drove past today, Im guessing you were heading to Ocean Village. What and where are your top spots in Southampton?? Just interested to see if they are the same as where we used to ride (and where we'll probably be tomorrow).
  14. Im 25 and have just started riding again. Im loving every minute of it! Sod what anyone says!
  15. All the original Southampton Trials lads will be falling off alot and generally hurting themselves on Sunday. Have a good ride tomorrow chaps!
  16. A couple of months ago I watched a Bike Trials video on YouTube, I've since searched for it again everywhere. From these small details can you help me find it again!?... It looked european, maybe Russian or German but Im not 100% sure, it was a group of riders but there was one main one who was being filmed the most. He looked pretty young but Im not sure if he is, he just looked it. Im pretty sure he was sponsered, he was wearing blue and white.....I think. The only other thing I can remember is red brick walls, there were parts of the video filmed of him riding on red brick walls!? Help me before I go mental trying to find it. It probably wasnt that good but I remember his riding being worth watching again!
  17. I found a Mavic 121 in my garage the other day and a few El Gatos! I have soooo many memories of riding its unreal, I cant even begin to list them all. And yes.... groups.yahoo.com/groups/modandstocktrialsriding ...was the place to be! I did some tidying up on there a couple of months ago, looks like its stayed that way. No bots or people wanting to post lots of porn! Alex (Shift_6_6_6)
  18. I have a new 203mm BB7, it was spongy as hell. I bought some Oddesey slick cables, a Hope Saw rotor and spent a while resetting it up. I now wouldnt want another front brake. Its awesome.
  19. I was really bad at XC and long term stamina was not my thing. I started mucking around learning endos and back hops, then I saw 'Chainspotting' as soon as it was released and that was that. Ashton's section filmed in the States did it for me. I made the trek upto Bike 97 and saw the Mart(y)ins doing their thing, and again it totally cememnted in my mind how I wanted to ride. Unfortunatly I didnt have enough money to build a trials bike at the time so I began learning on my '97 Gary Fisher Joshua! I still have the frame, its in really good condition! After aloooooong time riding on that, and using my friends rigid bikes I got my hand on a Rocket FAB Stage One duel slalom frame, I rapidly learnt ALOT quicker and then bought the trials specific frame. I had that for ages and never made much of a progression. Pluss I started college and alcohol, girls, and cars took over so my bike got thrown in the garage. Until 2 months ago! I built a Czar trials bike up and have begun riding again. I am back in love with trials now, its also great to be able to easily afford to buy bits and bobs to try out or if I break them! The new generation of trials bike is wooooooooooorlds apart from what we used to ride, I can now see why people are doing such insane things. Bikes 8 - 10 years ago simply wouldnt have coped, brakes were just to crap! My only regret is stopping for so long, I wish so much that Id carried on riding all those years ago.
  20. The contant slow mo ruined it for me to be honest. The riding is stunning though, I hate to repeat what everyone else has said but......that bollard tailwhip was just awesome. Well done that man!
  21. Awesome looking bike, I want bars as wide as that! Bring it out tonight Ryan.
  22. I should be there tagging along with the Abingdon/Oxford guys. Itll be good to meet some new faces.
