Sounds like it's cost you some amount of money to get this bike running John. I bet it will all be worth it when you get out riding.

A stem with around 5 degrees of rise and 110mm in length would be the popular choice for that style of frame. Something like the Echo Control stem. I used to ride an 05 Pitbull with a Control stem and it rode pretty darn well.
