The BB7 is more adjustable, both pads can adjust instead of just the outer, I'd say its worth the extra. The power on my Avid is immense, I like the system used to set it up too.

It's a mount for a shifter if you decide you want gears, as it uses a gyro. It's removable though. Theres a few changes actually, it comes with a nicer chain ring than that and comes with Atomlab bars too. Theres mine

You can get internal geared hubs, it's nothing special, he just got confused. It's the Shimano Nexus hubs which have internal gears.
