To be honest, there really isn't much difference between Nikons and Canons performance wise. Both will give you excellent photos just as good as the other. There always seems to be this huge raging war between Nikon and Canon, when in reality, there isn't much difference. Just go to the shop and try them both out, I eventually picked the D70s because I much prefered the way it felt, I thought it fitted in my hand much better and felt less plasticky. However, Mark for example, felt the exact opposite. It's all personal preferance, go out to a shop and see how they feel and choose the one you like best, because to be honest there won't be much difference performance wise.
