I have followed the wiki and got to the stage where i need to put a m5 bolt in it. surely when you screw the bolt into the "gold thing" and you want to adjust the tpa wouldnt the gold thing move causing the bolt to not move in more to push the pistons out?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Unlike cars bikes don't have number plates or a vin number so it would be hard or even impossible to know wether it's legit or nicked.

Because mostly all disc brakes have really good braking power and the pads run on a smooth disc. So there doesnt need to be different compunds for modulation/bite etc. There are different pads like sintered and others (which I cant remember)
