hiyya mate, since your new to trials, buying a brand new bike is a silly choice imo, £250 is plenty of money to get a great specced 2nd hand 20" bike, i'd probably look no further than the for sale section on this site or maybe ebay.

if you could get a pic it would be easier for anyone to see what is wrong

it mite be abit stronger than regular pipe but why don't you look in to why your getting leaks in your current hose...i.e is the cross-over to long or short? do you sit on your cross-over alot when your out riding because you don't have a booster fitted? does the pipe sit flush to the bottom of the barbs?

don't use the guide, just think about it logically... that guide is hard to follow imo
