I ride foam grips with gloves and have done for ages and have barely worn down.

I'm 6ft 1" mate and i ride a mod, i just have a long stem an haven't cut down the steerer tube so it's higher, which means i don't bang my knees.

Mine has been fine all night aswell, but a few people i know have had trouble.
