  1. This? What is that 'tool' he's used in the pic?
  2. So thats the only reason they're weaker? Does that mean if your split link is the same shape and thickness as the plates in your chain, there would be no comprimise in strenth?

    Pythonn.

Very nice Is that a long or short? That's what I was thinking.

    Gu Le

By 'nosedive' do you mean you can't keep it on the backwheel? As this could be either your technique, or your front wheel is quite heavy + your a weakling
  5. This is just a guess, but maybe when the chain 'streches' the split-link doesn't? And this would put a lot of stress on the split-link and eventually cause it to snap. EDIT: nevermind, Adam proved my theory wrong
  6. I've ran a split link on my KMC for almost 9months now! Luck is on my side
  7. Same thing as far as I know.
  8. Did you whack your balls at the end? Or is that what 'onzat-comp' ment by I feel sorry for your wrists. Either way... painful! Good riding though, very big!
  9. Looks quite similar to the GU LE
  10. 'Andrew92' has had one for about a month so far (no grinds) and it seems pretty solid - touch wood. Also Ozzy runs a rear Viz hub and that's been fine. Although I highly recomend my Echo 07 rim + hub combo! It's a little heavy, but its never buckled, and it holds a grind for ages! (had mine for 5months so far, and it's still on its first grind )
  11. It all depends on what weight you are are, what weight your bike is, which tyres you run, etc.... Just pump your tyre up to the max, and take a little out at a time. Then see which point your prefured - like which gripped the best, was the bouncy-est, which made riding slightly easier. You know what I mean realy
  12. Cool! So what else is Dan making/developing aside from the rims?
  13. There's one on Youtube (got posted up on here a little while back) I think it was for the Guiness book of records. I'll try and find the link...
  14. Yeah, defo get it built! So how did you 'make' it? I'm a bit of a dumb dumb when it comes to metalwork.
  15. No Off here, ebay? I'd say quite cheap, seeing as they're quite dated frames.
  16. I'm a lefty, it just feels natural.
  17. (for the poor chappy on the school computer) It's a Try-all tin, going for £8. And Tarty give them away for free
  18. QUOTE (joe b @ Apr 3 2008, 08:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>£11 to pre enter or £15 on the day, both on top of £10 membership... So if I'm only going to the Mertha Comp (wales, round 2) I'll have to pay £21-25? Seems abit steep.

    116mm Or 135mm

I much prefur the vertical drop outs (135) on my stock compared with the horizontal drop outs (116) of a mod/mod-stock, due to the simplicity of setting up the rear wheel and brakes. But those pesky mech hangers keep dying! So chain tension is then an issue. Horizontal is much more reliable when it comes to chain tension!
  20. So will I So you can just turn up on the day with £15, simple as?
