    Craig Lee Scott

I'm so going to buy one of those new 24" Because Trials frames, and sticker on the words "The Middle Child" on it. Then watch in 6 years time when you all have this fight over my old frame

    24" Tgs Bike?

All but the rims tyres, tubes and spokes.. EDIT: Allthough you may want a longer stem than whats on your stock - like a 150 x 30 mod stem.
  3. I'm 85Kg, and on my stock (I too have a Try-all sticky's, but not the 'Barbie' couloured ones ) and I run 20PSI front and back. Seems like a good preasure to avoid dents in the rim, and punctures - but it still keeps the bounce in the tyre.
  4. +1, a good lever always makes a vee feel better too. Heres a good example of a non-exspensive, but good vee. Shimano Acera arms, £12 - link. Avid SD7 lever, £11 - link. Heatsink CNC'd vee pads (Get the 'snowys' - the white material), £19 - link. Odyssey Slic brake cable, £3 - link. And that excellant vee brake comes too £45 without post and packaging. EDIT: Now think about what you get with a Magura, for £70 you still only get standard black pads that are useless in trials! Soby going with the vee for £25 less you'll be getting a much better brake (providing you know how to set up a vee brake well! If not just bring it to your local bike shop)
  5. Wow, someone bums Rockman way too much!! As said before its got to be the original Levelbosses. First seatless frames and had great geo.
  6. Echo Sl's are great hubs. I'm definitely impressed by mine. They have 12mm axles (most hubs have 10mm, so these are that bit stronger) which is then machined down to 10mm at the dropouts. Also the cog interface is splined not screw-on, so that elimantes chances of stripping the cogs threads - also it makes it so easy to take off the cogs!

    Onza Zoot

Good to see some seatless 24"s being used, I'm sick of seeing all these Inspireds, Marino's and Heatsink's with un-useable seats After seeing your bike I decided to build up the Zoot frame I had lying around, so I put all the components from my 24UK onto the Zoot. And god does it ride nice, these frames are lush! I find them so 'trialsy' compared to my Heatsink which was a little street beast. EDIT: I really want to spray my frame black and white now
  8. Both are good pads, one has his last name on the label, the other is made by his sponsor's, Koxx and Try-all. I'd be more surprised to see him go against his sponsor and pick the Cousts. Koxx browns are quite possibly the most favoured pad around! They work amazingly in the dry and wet, and somehow last for so long no matter what grind you put them on. Perfect pads for me

and the Pitbull disappeared.. Perhaps no-one could justify spending £100 more (Python over the Lynx, Pitbull over the Piranha) for a heavier frame with similar geometry, produced by the same manufacturer??

    Green Goblin

What a clever place to run the gear cable on a trials bike, on the down tube Its bound to get trashed!
  11. Explain this in more detail please. I'm really intrested in how this worked!
  12. There a few sensible options you can take here: - Use a star-nut, and a longer bolt. - Run a thinner headset, so more of the forks poke out of the top. - Pick a stem with a smaller stack height, so you top-cap has more chance of reaching. - Buy new forks. - Change back to your Lynx frame.
  13. I can improve that drawing - get the holes cut to M6
  14. New V-daptors too by the looks of things New: Old: They seemed to have moved the 'stud' outwards more, to accomadate for wider rims and tighter set-ups.
  15. Has Tarty sold out of these at the moment? As they are not shown on the site..
  16. I recomend you buy a new stem. A stem that is higher and longer than your current one. Keep your bars if you find them comfortable - getting a high rise stem will help so much more! I'm 6'1, and find all mods just too small - but with a higher front end (this results in a longer reach, it makes it so much more comfortable) A stem like these should suit a taller rider much more.. Viz Forged - 175mm x 35° £39 Link. Onza T-Master - 185mm x 40° £25 Link. TMS Forged - 180mm x 35° £35 Link. Trialtech Race Forged - 165 x 35° £30 Link. EDIT: added prices for you
  17. Different rims will have different 'ERD's' (effective rim diameter). As the diameter of the rim (more importantly, where the spokes tighten onto the rim) gets larger, you will need longer spoke to reach the rim. The same theory will apply for if you have a hub with a smaller spoke flanges. Obviously if the rim's diameter is less, or the hub's flanges are larger, then you'll need shorter spokes.. Having incorrect lenghts of spokes can cause many problems! 1 - if the spokes are too long, then the nipples will not be able to screw on tight enough. 2 - if the spokes are to short, you run the risk of stripping the threads of the spokes. 3 - it makes it much harder to build!
  18. These pads?? They sound as though they do wear pretty fast Dave! It even warns you not run rotors with large/many holes to prevent them from dying so fast.. (most rotors used in trials have large holes)
  19. You realise your current bar and stem isn't aluminium..
  20. 26" - Kenny B 20" - Benito R ..both have dominated comps in the last decade! As for 24", its only been 'big' for the past two years now - hardly the last 10 years. Danny Mac's probaly ridden a 26" more in the past decade. So I'll be saying - Eddie Tongue, as he sparked up the whole seen with the Ashton ET24 (ET standing for Eddie Tongue )
  21. Get a Try-all. I'm in love with mine - its never sliped on street, and on natural it grips to the side of a wet rock nicely (which my high roller never could). Also the sidewalls are seriously thick so punctures are hard to come by. Only downside is its heavier than most tyres out there, but I think its worth it!

    24" Tgs Bike?

Na, any where inbetween +55 and +75 sounds good to me. You've got to remember an Inspired is +35, and that doesn't feel 'trialsy' (I know the long stays also contribute to this..) So it only makes sense to go higher, seeing as this is suposed to be a 'real' trials bike.
  23. Run a thiner chain seeing as your set-up is that close to the chainstay. Your using the KMC Kool 1/8'' chain, right? Just buy the KMC Kool 3/32'' chain - it'll give you a few mm extra clearance..
  24. I'd rather wear out a chain quicker, than have my chainstay eaten away at by the chain..
