  1. You left out the 24" street riders, that run seats, take there brakes off, grind there brake mounts off, and run spoke tensioners I agree wiht this thread to an extent, I ride with a group of lads who live 30mins away from us, and two of them are old enough to be my dad. And I never would of known them if it wern't for trials..
  2. Cheers Matt, exactly what I needed to hear I'll be sure to not land in any pools either
  3. Okay cheers, I didn't wanna put anymore force on it just incase I'd end up ruining the freewheel. No, I took it straight from the box and put it on my cranks.
  4. Got this freewheel today, along with a BB and Tensile Bars, brand new from TartyBikes. Just spent the last hour fitting everything. I screwed the freewheel onto my cranks by hand, then when the cranks were on the bike I slowly rotated the cranks forward so that the freewheel was on nice and tight. Then pedelled around my garden to make sure the freewheel was tight. Then I went up on the back wheel and pedal kicked - it felt weird for some reason! Almost like my chain was loose (the chain isn't loose) so straight away i stopped. I had a look at everything and saw that when you put pressure on the pedals the outer ring of the freewheel (the part with the teeth on) moves slightly to the side I can actually wobble this outer ring abit with my fingers.. Is this normal for Sl freewheels?? The last thing that I'm wanting to do is f**k up my brand new freewheel by riding on it if it shouldn't be doing this. The only thing I can think of is that the lockring may be loose, butas its up against the crank arm and I don't have the Echo freewheel tool to take it back off again, I can't check it. Shall I send my crank (with the freewheel on) back to Tarty so they can check it out? I'll be calling TartyBikes tomorrow morning to see what they think, so no comments saying "ring Tarty mate" please.
  5. As said above, you have a leak. Most probaly the hosing has a small hole or split in it - if not check all the fittings to make sure they're as tight as possible so no waters getting out..

    V Brake Play

I'm the same as Manuel, my Avid Ultimates are atleast 2 years old and have no play what so ever. Yet my Avid SD7's have loads of play, and they were like that when I bought them brand new. You get used to the play fairly quickly but i've stuck with using the Ultimates to eliminate this..
  7. You'll have to use a crank puller to remove the crank without damaging it, but a rubber faced mallet can be used. Once the crank is off you'll have to use a bottom bracket tool to take the bottom bracket out from your frame. The bottom bracket tool you will usually need is this one, but there is a different tool to fit SKF and Truvativ bottom brackets found here. You'll have to purchase a longer bottom bracket - a 128mm long axle will be pefect. There are plenty of bottom brackets to choose from, ISIS splined and square tapered, make sure you pick the type that'll fit your cranks Then simply install the new longer bottom bracket in to your frame, and then fit your cranks. Your freewheel won't rub on the bottom bracket after that..
  8. Theres not alot of clearence between those forks and the tyre. Does it rub?
  9. So an ENO freewheel will be made in 1.375", as its from the states - meaning it can strip your cranks like this too??
  10. Just use pliars to pull it around your axle, then use two pliers to make the bends to line the spoke up with the chain. Its what I did:
  11. Either 180mm or 160mm will be fine on the rear of your mod. Just make sure you buy the matching caliper for the size of rotor you choose..
  12. Dude thats ages away, I've no idea what there is to ride over there, and i doubt anyvody currently rides there..
  13. Where abouts in Pembrokeshire are you going? Me, Ozzy and Cooke all live in Tenby (south pembs), and quite a few lads ride in Carmarthen and St.Clears (about half an hour away from Tenby).
  14. I had a little ride on the new Zoot at the last two nationals, and they're really nice to ride. It would be a perfect all rounder, the geometery is so suited to riding a bit of trials here, a bit of strret there. Compared to my 24UK, the Zoot rides a lot more trialsy, but street still feels very do-able. Go for the Zoot The Ashton looks nice but all the components are are just standard MTB parts really..
  15. Sweet, good choice going for vee mounts I'm guessing the geo's around: 1050 - 1060 wheelbase 385 - 390 chainstay length +10 - +20 bottom bracket height 73 - 74 head angle if so it sould ride very nicely for both street and trials..
  16. The seat tube and top tube look to be the same tube, just bent where the seat stays join. Why would it need reinforcing? Or was this not what you ment?
  17. Sounds good, the 26" Zoot has got my attention

    Kabra 24

And why is this worth nearly £600??
  19. They look good, must be alot grippier than cage and normal platform pedals - theres grip all over these, whereas cage pedals just have grip around the edges and platforms usually have the grip dotted around as pins. I'd quite like to try a pair of these

    Danny Mac

That looked like so much fun!
  21. Lush, good man for putting the disc mount on. I've found a new love for discs on 24's..

    Heatsink 24Uk

Thinking about going 24" are we Matt? Geometry 1025 WB 385 CS +25 BB 73 HA These Atomz forks throw that geo off abit though, they have too much rake and could be a tad shorter.. If a had £150 to spare, the Inspired forks would ride perfectly on here
