  1. I have heard of riders using 24" tubes in their 26" wheels to shed some weight. I don't think that would be a good idea. The wweight alone is enough to stay away! Since i have gotten smoother and put a tad more air in, i have not had any problems with pinch flats. I run normal tubes, with a bit of sealant. What tires are you running, what psi?
  2. The Shimano Sora is always a good choice. They are inexpensive, made very well, and are pretty light considering the price. I have used them on 5,6,7 and 9 speed cassettes. I have used Sram Gripshift, Shimano Rapidfire, and my favorite, cheapo friction shifter. If you are looking for a long cage, i would recommend the Shimano Deore. Both the Sora and the Deore share much of the same research and development as desplayed in some of their high-end components. The Sora weighs the same as the Tiagra, as does the Deore weigh almost the same as the XT. Much of the moving parts are the same too. If you are not shifting constantly (were doing trials here, not XC) then the integrity is much the same. I have broken an XT short cage just as quick as a Sora, yet the XT is three times as much. With most derailleurs you will be paying for smoother pulleys, and smoother shifting. Using good housing, proper cutting and machining of ferrules, and using a teflon-coated cable can help just as much with shifting. Good luck!
  3. Hi there, I have been a sole believer in the Plazmatic CRM pads for over two years. They have worked great, always gripped, and had a long wear life. I am in need of some new pads, and trying to find out what people in the UK use. Im currently in New Mexico (Not Mexico as in Mexico City) and ride a bit. The PLazmatic pads have always been good here for super dry conditions, but im moving to study at Uni Swansea in five days. Im putting in an order with tartybikes and need some advice for a good pad that will work for all conditions i may encounter. Regards, Maxwell
  4. Ok, sweet! I know this is a long-shot, but would anyone know what size seapost collar i would need? I want a real seat on it, and it's coming with a trials saddle. Thanks in advance:) Do people ever ride these frames with a suspension fork? I know, i know, im going to be frowned upon, but i have always rode my trials bike with a proper saddle and suspension fork. I currently ride a 2005 Norco Moment, with a Fox f80.
  5. I just bought one, and need to figure out the seatpost size for it! It's the blue 26mhz... Hope someone can help:)
  6. Im a street rider, and my favorite by a long shot is the Norco Moment. The white frame they came out with in 2006. Great geometry, 25 year warranty, and rides like a dream. Had mine built up with a Fox Float and street parts and only weighed in at 25.4 pounds. Had a Megamo 20" Radical and liked that a lot as well.
  7. I will be moving to study there in two weeks. Im looking for riders to ride with. Get at me if you live around the area, or go on regular rides in the area. Thanks.
  8. I prefer no gloves and thin rubber grips. Better feel for the bike, plus less sweat!
  9. I think that 20" bikes are easier to start with, apply your skills, and then move onto a stock. But agaimn, its all personal preference.
  10. Primo Josh Stricker BMX grip gets my vote. Thin, Grippy, and come in slammin colors.
  11. The best helmet i have found is the Pro-Tec Bucky Lasek Lid. MAde out of the same plastic that is commonly used in cutting boards, its a translucent clear, red straps. So comfy and low-profile!
  12. If i were you i wouldnt use wd-40, i would try a different lube. Ever heard of tri-flow? works wonders on all moving parts. Teflon loaded! It's great stuff!
  13. The cable needs more tension. Try loosening the barrel adjuster out (counter-clockwise) one turn. Try again. The cable needs more tension. Try loosening the barrel adjuster out (counter-clockwise) one turn. Try again.
