Right, I am by no means a car geek, so basic jargon please in response to this question. Ill start with what car i have. T-reg VW Golf MK4 1.6 S, bogey green . Right, I cant remember how long i have had this problem, but i have had the car two years (was second hand) and i think it has been there since the start to be honest. However the problem is as follows; When i am stationary, with the engine on (idling, i think) the rev counter constantly moves up and down around the 1000rpm mark. One of my mates just bought a new 1.4 golf and his, when idling, stays pretty much dead on the 1000rpm mark. I am sure my car should be idling as his is, and as such would like someone to help me figure out the problem so i can see if i can gte it sorted cheaply? ta ben
