Went to France with Mark to visit John Langlois back in March. Unfortunately John broke his hand two weeks before, so was out of action. Thankfully he still asked us to come along and showed us around his local spots. Had a good time and managed to film some clips that I thought were worth putting into an edit. Nothing majorly spectacular I'm afraid but I am chuffed with how some of the lines turned out. Let me know your thoughts once it goes live at 1800 (I'm going to be out hence the early post)...

I'm sure Vincent can go bigger and is more capable now, but this is PRIME Vincent Hermance style! Watched this video so many times back in the day.

@jamesb, you have no right doing that line on the green rail at 3:34. So good!!!

Firstly, congratulations on the news, Rich! It's certainly life changing, but I hope you stick at it even through the impending change. Good little video. Still got it.

Probably shouldn't be surprised that Ali is better on a fat bike than I've ever been on any trials bike . I'm a little late to the party but that was class, @Ali C. Some really dirty stuff in there, not to be messed with. More videos like this please on all of your bikes!

Mark, Your technique looks ok, but i think you just need to commit a bit more as well as using your knee's a bit more throughout. Things to try: raise your front pedal a little more to allow you to put a bit more power down through the pedal to get to the tap. Crouch down more as you land on the edge then jump out pulling your knees up / pushing your arms up and out to give the bike some height. The more height you have the easier the rotation should come around. My personal technique is slightly different as I don't kick my pedal to get into the tap. I pull my front wheel up and round (technically i hop both wheels, but the back only comes off the ground a little bit) and my back wheel lands on the wall almost parallel with where it was on the wall (where the kick you tend to move forwards toward being where the bottom bracket was). Then continue with "crouch down more...." from the above sentences. Hope that makes some sense. Ben

Back on the bike after a couple of injuries late last year and decided to pull together a fun / quick edit with Adam McGuire. Filmed over four saturday morning rides in January. Let me know your thoughts

@Al_Fel, your time is now!

No. This new username is not ok.

*it's nice and easy though, @Adam@TartyBikes. Just write up a 'blog' then send it to the PB moderators to review. Definitely they'd be interested.

Is going to Magura HC rotors better than avid g3
ben_travis replied to MaderaMark's topic in Trials Chat
Not ran the Avid rotors, so can't compare i'm afraid, however if you can get these - https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/disc_brake_rotors/magura_mdrc/c76p13782.html then i'd highly recommend them. I've been running these for quite a while and definitely noted they're stronger than the standard Storm HC rotors. -
So bad news will no doubt prevail over good news but I’ve genuinely had no problems in over 18 months of use. I’ve wouldn’t consider that I go easy on them either. I wouldn’t stress to much and just enjoy that buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Should've gone with a green screen colour. Imagine the vlogibilities.

Wow, @aener, so good. I particularly liked the driftwood kitchen line and the 'up to rear into drop to bridge' lines you did. Bueno.

I've had crown steerer unit creak issues with every fox fork i've had recently. This included 32's / 34's. Ran RS lyriks for a couple of years now with no issues.

Hey man, you had me questioning my own knowledge for a second, but no, the thin wall in that video was at a spot in glasgow! Phew

@isitafox can you deal with this spam, plea......oh, erm, awkward...

Same here, we've been switched to BG from Peoples energy, but just waiting to see what happens with my tariff. I'm going to assume that BG will be bending me over and inserting something large in somewhere I don't want it.

Knocking sounds on DIsc Brake Caliper
ben_travis replied to MaderaMark's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Unfortunately you're never going to fix the problem in full without some custom modification as the pads are never a tight enough fit. If you haven't tried them, the trialtech pads tend to have less pad rock than most (and as such less noise), however, i find the tape method is usually the best for removing rocking noise. I recommend gorrilla tape or similar rather than a double sided tape. Recently i've been using a new method to the gorrilla tape application where i wrapped the tape around the sides of the pad backing and stuck down to the front of the pad backing (avoiding contact with the brake pad material) then i cut off the gorrilla tape that would have been in contact with the piston. So far i've not had any problems and reduced the rocking noise significantly. Hope that helps. -
I had this discussion with someone and they made the very good point that once you get used to it on the downhills, the weight isn't so bad, so actually it'd be better if the batteries could last twice as long and the bike be the same weight as they are now. Obviously battery life being twice as long and the weight being the same or only a couple more kg than an analogue bike would be the dream, but i think that'll be a long time coming. I definitely recommend an e-bike, and basically agree with this:
