well it may not have totally crossed the line joe, but if he hadnt have given the goal it would have been a penalty for the goalkeepers challenge, so its gunna more than likely be a goal anyway well done anyway, jose marhinio (sp) needed putting in his place, hes an arrogant twat, at end of game he just wouldnt admit that chelsea couldnt break the pool down. ben

ben_travis replied to ben_travis's topic in Member Organised Rides
Hey again guys, adam, i will probs only able to ride that natural u talking about on the saturday anyway, so thats the day i would prefer to meet up and ride this amazing natural try improve my skills, i think ill be riding with damon and hull boys on the sunday, so im trying to find where they would like to go, hence the second part of question about yorkshire riding! but yea ill chat to u on msn about riding on the saturday if your up for it! yea so guys think im gunna ride natty with adam one of the days so if u fancy riding that with us, assuming its ok with the locals, we will meet up there for a decent ride :D now i am still open to suggestions for riding street in yorkshire, cheers ben -
Two Big Rides, Organising Now To See Peoples Ideas
ben_travis replied to ben_travis's topic in Member Organised Rides
im not sure but i think tarty may have suggested that place. ANyway, any more suggestions guys, if anyone wants to add me to msn feel free, we can have a chat and some organising. cheers guys ben -
righty. I finish exams on 16th May this year and am planning for some decent weather and some rides to be organised. Here we go, as the GF lives in Leicester, i am planning a small visit to that area to see her till the wednesday night, now i want to stay in that area to go for a decent ride in that area this may well include Nottingham Street Natural Riding (tarty made a suggestion, forgot its name) Leicester Loughborough (any more suggestions???) So this may be a ride for the thursday or Friday, alternatively i could come ride that w/e (21st/22nd), depending on everyones thoughts. Following this i will be returning to hull, the birth place of myself, to ride with the guys from there, and possibly raid the Tartybikes place see if i can find some stuff to spend on :P. So organisation of a similar ride during the week or on the sunday in yorkshire, suggestions i make are leeds hull sheffield Natty in yorkshire any other random places, make some more suggestions!!! so what do u guys think, i know this is well in advance, but you know its good to organise big rides well in advance, i am quite happy with riding natty both days or street both days on the w/e, although one day (sat) in leicester area, and one day (sun) in yorkshire are would be fantastic. any suggestions sorry for long winded post, want to make it as clear as poss. ben

-
yea this is my reason too, but im 100 miles north of this guy so its very difficult to get down there :o, although next year ihope to be down in hull for second uni semester so its really more likely ill be able to compete good topic wayne

hey mike put the clips up that u got from aberdeen :o cheers ben hope your ankle is ok, i missed it but looks harsh

you will find that trek are one of the biggest bike companies on the planet, they have ultimate resources, from wind tunnels to extremly good knowledge with frame materials, its certainly not market bull as they took a frame to a trek uni day at stirling on wednesday and cut it up along with many carbon frames, so they did invent it and do own all rights to it, hence why no one else can use. i am unsure why you think its unlikely trek invented the material, you obviously dont know how big they are in the cycling industry. also on this uni day they only found one other manufacturers carbon frames that were better then theirs, colonago frames, however after a quick phonecall they found that colonago get their carbon from FERRARI. so yea, my two cents

if i am correct in thinking u mean DAMON WATSON from hull, one of the most awesome riders going, been riding less than two years, yes TWO years, glad you guys had a good ride wish i could have made it, aberdeen is around 12-14 hours drive, haaha cheers ben
-
yea i had spotted it, if u look in the post above yours  cheers ben
-
righty guys, was having a chat with my boss at work, and a trek rep today on the phone, basically ZR9000 would be a great material for trials, its super dent resistent, very light, and uber strong, i know im contradiciting my first post, but this is a confirmation of facts now. However, trek and gary fisher, are the only people who are allowed to use this material, must be their design (trek own gary fisher) and the base material, Zinc i think it is, is super for frame building, however the downside. expensivio, not so much as ti, but still very expensive to manufacture and as trek dont make any trials bikes, i cant see it happening anytime soon for trials frames. anyway, thought i woulc confirm something cheers ben
-
i dont think the zr9000 that trek use for there top of the range XC bike would be that ideal for trials, as adam said, firstly they tubes are thin, and by this i mean uber thin, secondly its a very expensive material to put together, im unsure exactly on the method of construction but it is expensive, however i wouldnt think it were as expensive as titanium to put otgether. i would say that zr9000 is a good tubing material for frames, however there are reasons why companies use certain materials for certian bikes. for example the stresses and forces applied to a trials bike is very different from say DH or XC. So as ZR9000 tubing was designed for lightweight XC bikes i think it should stay that way, with XC bikes. cheers ben
