righty, i have cracked the end of my onza carbon risers, still rideable, but i wish to know what people reccomend before i change them. I love the feel of my onza bars, but a change could be good. i use the 27" carbons, will i make it harder going with the zoo's. anyway just give general opinions. you dont have to have used both, just ur general opinion/why you use that bar. ben

Right, As topic title says, two new videos from myself. Will be very interested to hear the views of you guys, First point i must make, is that you will require quicktime 7+ to view these (H264 compression) This can be found here....... http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html Make sure you have this before viewing the video. Anyway, my second and third video (after being sponsored) are filled with most up-to-date footage, i really hope you enjoy them. Most things in the video's are nw and havent been done by myself in other video's so im hoping you like them. I have been practising new techniques for things so this is sort of a video for me to see how these changes are helping me (cheers damon). Also i have been pushing myself further because i dont feel i am riding my best at the moment, and i really tried with some of these moves to improve my riding both natural and street. Street - Razz (kings of leon) 27.5mb 2:15mins. .mov (quicktime 7 required) Natural - Where nobody knows (kings of leon) 36mb 2:44mins (quicktime 7 required) http://www.heatsinkbikes.com PLEASE NO LAZY LINKS enjoy, and your comments would be much appreciated.

would love to adam, but long journey, and i work every saturday, nm. ill have to come down that area sometime, looks to be some really good spots

cheers, i thought that would be the best way, but as im at uni, i thought id ask. What kind of settings should be required for audio, i thought 32khz should be fine, thats what the street video is and its pretty good for 27mb, hmmm........ill just have a play around. cheers craig
-
sorry, was confused as to what u mean, i have saved the file etc, and rendered it all, its just the actual settings that i would like. For example, what people may have used on here to produce videos etc. or may have done at uni.

Right, i have made two videos, one street riding and one natural riding, when i compressed the street video i got 2:30mins down to 27mb, playing with the settings and found a set i really like, the quality is good, and when full screened it works well. Problem arose when going to export the natural video, i have forgotten the settings and cannot find the ideal set that i used on my street video. I compressed the video and 2:40 or something like that comes out at 55mb, so does anyone have some settings that would be ideal for bringing the size down. let me know please? ben

ho high is the sidehop in metres, looking good, im trying to change my technique at the moment, i got a 50" sidehop to both wheels today, i was uber proud of that. ben

hsbc were the first company to use that, but no longer do i think, correct me if im wrong, but natwest started it up this year again, but you have to have a student account, for which i think you have to be over 18, the offer was a free railcard or 100£ sterling in your account, im glad i chose the railcard, its paid itself off and the 100£ they offered easily

you have to realise, the scottish trials scene has only had ONE competition, that was at this years world cup, we need to start organising more with venue's all around scotland, you have comps at tykes, so at least you have comps near you. My nearest comp is at the tykes, this being officially a 7-8 hour drive, so for me to have a comp closer to me would be great, so i hope that the organiser doesnt have the comp nearer england, after all we want a scottish series as well why dont you all chip together on petrol and get your arses up there, its worth it, because the next one, may well be a much closer venue for you, and much further for me, ben

again, im a generally (what wayne is classing as) long video maker, but i can see clearly where he is coming from as for example andrewt's - vincent in colorado video - should be long, so much footage, and vince is truly f**king awesome, everyone wants to see this boy ride, and andyt is the f**king daddy of video's (if i may say so) mike (leedstrials) - roadtrip 05 - funkin awesome video, always phyc's (sp?) me up, but for differnt reasons for andyt's, this has numerous riders, of good ability, but doesnt become boring, because there is so many style's in there. so these as my examples of a well worked long video, and the reasons why, but if for an example a newmember who has been riding 3months makes a video that last's 5 mins, it generally would be pretty crappy as the level of riding isnt as high, (no offence to anyone, not aimed at anyone either). So you are very right (IMO) in the fact that video's are becoming much longer, i would say i dont tend to have long video's that are constant repetition, correct me if u feel i am wrong! most people who make long video's are using spare footage, both old and new, and this tends to create a longer video at least thats what happened on my bencoust4.mov video. Repetition is really bad in my opinion, it ruins the aura of a video (neil tunni's new video, too many rail gaps, i would say) but on the other hand it depends on the quality. i say, lets move back to the new less time video's and get lots more produced, especially this winter. ben EDIT: INTERESTINGLY, NOT WANTING THIS TO BE A DIG OR SOUND LIKE ONE, BUT HOW LONG WAS YOUR 'LITTLEWING' VIDEO WAYNE, THAT WAS FAIRLY LONG CORRECT????????. U LOVE IT (Y)

i decided this was the case as well wayne, so for my next video im thinking about 2:20 for a video, hopefully it will work, however the case is that many bands are making songs that are way longer than this stated time 2-2.30 mins, which i would prefer, however, its also a very bad thing if u cut off a song short, i really hate that, in the past i have tried to edit to a bit where the song is essentially the same beat as the end, then trim it down, only once have i done it where no-body noticed (or mentioned they had noticed). but yer i agree. hence im taking that for my target for next street video

the topic wasnt about the mac vs pc debate, (been there done that) please get back onto topic, if u care.

the topic wasnt about the mac vs pc debate, (been there done that) please get back onto topic, if u care. ok, so im not trying to make a point about apple being better than microsoft, i just wanted to bring to light the new program APERTURE, which is meant for professional photographers, but im sure some of you guys from here may well be interested http://www.apple.com/aperture/ enjoy, it does look very good, just watch the three video's as well, some really cool images and explanations for those who dont understand what the program is about ben

most of the reasons i chose to move back to a magura are listed in this topic, more so rossi's reply, thats exactly the reason i chose, its not perfect for a comp situation, but as your keeping your disk as spare, there will be no problem if you enter a comp. my main reason, was because i kept landing on rotor, and having to bend it back with my fingers. meh each to their own.

thought it might have been them ad, shame they are expensive (Y). have to shift some stuff on ebay, unless anyone wants to buy my koxx forks for around 50 >_< cheers tom, but i would say 415 is a bit long for my bike, i dont want to alter the geometry of what i have too much. cheers both of you!

because when you bump a topic thats 3+ pages long its annoying as people might have to read the whole topic, i thought, its a different question, ill relate to the first page of the old topic, and ask where abouts it is. im glad to hear it might be nearing production, truly looks amazing, and cant wait to see it. ben

so people, its been long time since this has been mentioned, looking to be the most amazing dvd available to buy of trials / street riding since this forum began. Looks superb, but havent had any update on it at all? any ideas of a date of availability
-
sorry if thats toward me mark, im tlaking about stock, bit off topic but still forks :$
-
amen although, is there any other manufacturers that do four bolt mounts on forks (that are decent) as i wouldnt mind some new forks i reckon, but most manufacturers seem to be going the route of disc only, and that sucks...... adam u possibly answer that?
