So, time for a real update: The paint seemed to be immune to nitro mors, maybe the new recipe is shit. So I got out my drill and a paint stripping attachment for it, took a good damn while. I ended up nitro morsing the bits I couldn't get to with the drill off. Left a couple of spots of the original paint on there in the really hard to reach bits. The next step was to find a way to hang the frame up in the car park where I live. Problem solved with a ladder. Had to tie it twice to stop it blowing about, it was so windy. Each coat nowhere near enough time to dry so the end result is a nice looking frame that sheds paint like it's got leprosy. Built the wheel up too, it's so much lighter than the last. It's a bit wide for the frame though, the hub spacing so it took some levering in. The coke can strip disguises the hub and adds colour co-ordination. haha. The brakes are so light to use it's awesome. The pedals are toss, I need to change them asap. I'm gonna save swapping the bars out until next year, when hopefully I can get a 1 1/8" headtube on there. Phase 1 is nearly complete - change the nipples on the front wheel, change the pedals, maybe swap the seat out, that should be it. Phase 2... is approaching slowly.

This sums up my view pretty well. Governments are great at covering up stuff, much the same as conspiracy guys like to crank things up to make them more dramatic. Both of those can be classed as lying. At the end of the day, it's remarkably suspicious, but you just can't say until you know every little tiny detail.

Yeah, skipping two teeth is fine. Just make sure to buy a derallieur with the right size cage, if the gear ratios get too far apart on the same cassette, you need more chain to make it all work. Probably a small sora mech will work though.

Yeah. Maybe even three spacers in between each. It takes a bit of experimenting. I've done it though! How come you want both 17 and 19?

Cut apart the cassette, extract all the plastic spacers and the two sprockets you need, and put them on. You might need part of a singlespeed kit to get it to fit properly. You need to put the sprockets so they're two shifts apart, if you see what I mean, maybe more, cause the chain is quite thick and it won't fit if you keep them as close as they come on the cassette. Then you hook up your derallieur, wind up the locking screws so it can't go off either edge, and it will work.

Best thing I think is to get rid of all the gears you don't need. I did it on a fourplay, 22t and then 17t and 12t. Means you can use a 3/32" chain like a z610.

How much, where from, what size, is it really as grippy as a try-all, what's it like against pinches?

The thing is, trialtech forks have an alloy steerer, which means it's thicker, which means you need a smaller star nut for it. This means you need a smaller headlock too, so that thingy you posted, will definitely not fit. They are a dick to get in. Put a bolt in there and hit the bolt, and try not to get it in at an angle.

You do have to hit them quite hard to get them to go in. Pics of said star nut with said steerer tube, lets see if it's the right one.

Sloped top cap, you say? That probably won't work. Are you sure you've got the right star nut for the forks?
