  1. If you're interested in a complete T-rex, my friend has one I'm sure he could be persuaded to part with for decent money. It's standard except for having koxx bloxx pads, reds and yellows IIRC, and a hope pro II trials rear wheel.
  2. Kinda, you're really better off saving for a true trials bike. However, as for learning the basic skills - trackstand, backhop, pedal-kick, balancing - your bike is probably capable of those as it is. You'd just need to select a lower gear. Maybe you can save for a trials bike and learn on that bike in the meantime? Course, if you've got the money now, go ahead and check out what's in the for sale section!
  3. No, your name's Freddie Lipp, dammit.
  4. It's business, isn't it? The sooner the product breaks, the sooner the user buys a new one.
  5. Find some suspension corrected rigid forks. Singlespeed is better, 22:18 is what you're aiming for. I'd stick to 26" wheels, your frame is made for those. Just a side note, no jump bike converted to trials rides trials nicely.
  6. It seems to me like he's just having a laugh. Which is nice. He seems like a pretty cool guy to be honest.
  7. Good plan. I'll have a look around the shops tomorrow, perhaps.
  8. I suggest you save up for a zoot. Something tells me it would be best for you. You never know, you might find one for cheap second hand as you're saving up for a new one. You might even find some of the green versions for cheap as discontinued because the next year's version, orange, is out.
  9. Here's a question. Are all valves a standard fitment? And do you have to look out for resistance? I've heard of people sticking, say, mesa boogie valves in a marshall amp. It's something I'd try if I need to replace valves at some point.
  10. As above. The wheel might just have been built badly or it may simply have de-tensioned after a small bit of use. True it up, save money and learn an invaluable skill.
  11. That fender blues junior is pretty good. All tube, right? Seems pretty good value for that. I'm tempted by the orange tiny terror at the moment. What did the HH sound like? What could you get out of it? Did it ever break?
  12. Because by the time it gets made it's old news, there isn't much news to go in it, and no-one would buy it if they can get it for free, especially if it's old news.
  13. It's been suggested before. The problem is the internet is much quicker and cheaper for news.
  14. Amps, amps, amps. I'm after a valve amp, I figure if I'm gonna upgrade I may as well upgrade properly-ish. Currenly looking at Marshall JCM 900 combos, ideally the 50watt version, but the cheap one I was watching on ebay i got outbid on. Damn ebay, I'd clicked the 'confirm your bid' and it didn't go through in time. Also in there is the Orange tiny terror, it's not a combo, it's not 50watts (which I don't really need), the thing I don't like is it's lack of bass mid treble dials, it's got just the one, the last amp I had with something like that it sucked on. There's a tiny terror on ebay for £250 buy it now. Dunno if that's a good price, like. A suprise contender is this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280760057350?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 HH studio fifty, it's old - reliability issues? - and it's not a valve amp, but they're meant to be good solid state amps. Which one, guys? Any other recommendations?
  15. That's impossible, you can't be friends with a place.
  16. It's one of mine. Desktop slideshow for the win. All the other ones are cool buildings though.
  17. Thought about this before... What if the classifieds section was an extra? Members can't use it unless they register to that as well. In order to register you must fill in details - address, home phone no, mobile no - which are visible to people you've got a transaction open with. I agree with the other post back a few pages, all items should be sent tracked. I send the tracking number the minute I get it, this lets the person recieving know firstly you've posted it, and secondly, when you posted it. I ask people I'm buying from to do this. It's disappointing when they don't do it, but I've not had anything go wrong yet. It's peace of mind.
  18. That's what I was getting at, why bother being fiddly about weight if you can't build a properly light bike, concentrate on building a good one instead.
  19. Yes. It's here. They'll probably let you try one out.
  20. Fag, go with the BB7 or the saint you're worshipping at the moment. Unless you've got the money to get the NOWAR bars and sky frame and ridiculously light bits and bobs a strict weight mission is unnecessary. What was it, 300 grams? Don't ride in a hoodie and ride in shorts, that'll save you the weight to run that saint brake.
  21. Trials bikes are pretty strong if you think about it, because a lot of trials revolves around static moves. So the force is channeled back into the bike rather than being redirected into a rolling motion.
