  1. You should stop having this conversation before it gets out of hand.
  2. I agree that people shouldn't wonder why the brake might stop working after a while. I recommend people thinking about it before water bleeding, but there are so many plus points of water bleeds over oil bleeds I'd encourage people not to be put off by it. Water is thinner than oil, so it offers a more responsive lever feel. Water's free. Water is readily available. Expanding on those last two points, this means it's not a waste of money to fill a bath with water to bleed your brake. It also means you can bleed it in a fountain if need be.
  3. I'm sure there is a way of making a square taper or ISIS axle to fit into a hollowtech BB. If I had a CNC machine I might try making one myself.
  4. I got a bit of an eye infection before so I'm erring on the side of caution. What with there being piss in the pool and all. I went today and just swam in my glasses. Can't say I like getting water in my eyes though, it stings after a while.
  5. I'd be going for a 'bimble', as you called it, but I like swimming under water.
  6. A strap could work, if I bought one. My sight's pretty bad. It'd be a fair nuisance not to wear glasses. The other thing about goggles is they make seeing under water a lot easier. Goggles would be great, any contact lens users got advice for that? Prescription goggles! Great idea!
  7. I want to go swimming but I have contact lenses. I just wonder what other people in this situation do. I could wear my glasses but they might fall off in the pool. I could wear goggles and contact lenses but they usually let water in eventually and getting swimming water on my lenses isn't an option. What do, guys?

    Creatine

Creatine doesn't help build muscle, its role is to help you not get as knackered in the gym. If you want your muscles to look more defined, you need less body fat.
  9. They're not meant to, but loads of people do it.
  10. Nope. There's a bolt on one end of the axle in a two-piece system, or either end in a three-piece system. This bolt stops the cranks flopping off the axle. There's a pinch bolt on one or either crank (depends on the system) that holds the crank onto the interface.
  11. Unless your frame is super flexy, you may as well get a 2-bolt one.
  12. Is your bike second hand? The brakes might be water-bled, so maybe they started to ice up inside. It's not going to break your bike, but you could rebleed it with antifreeze.
  13. The axle's on the cranks. There's a bolt that pulls the cranks towards each other, onto the axle. There's a hat-shaped washer that's usually on there to make sure the cranks push together right - without it the cranks crush the bearings when tightened. It's called hollowtech II I think, so you need some hollowtech II cranks to go with it, or a new BB and matching cranks.
  14. Pfft, I think he needs to learn to pronounce his own name
  15. Every animal defends its home to the death. Apparently even nerds!
  16. Huh? I was using this - with a BB7 before and it worked fine. A bmx lever shouldn't need an adaptor, surely?
  17. Is there play in that brake when it's all tightened down? If there isn't, then the bolt's gonna hold it on so it won't flop off. It'll be fine.
  18. Er, actually he was talking about the strength of the bearing itself. It's the hubshell that breaks on these hubs.
  19. Keep using it, you'll be able to tell when it's about to snap. Probably.
  20. She's revealed herself to be ungrateful and selfish. Those aren't things you want in a girlfriend. Find a new one.
  21. Shit, you guys breathed in asbestos? You're gonna die a slow death of coughing up blood.
  22. Buy a new cable, fit it on the frame and into the lever but not into the brake, then turn the bars around, and then decide how much you want to chop off.
  23. They won't always. When you swap to better pads you will be blown away.
  24. I used to use a kenda super thick tube and a DMR tyre and it pinched all the time. Avoid it unless you pump up your tyres.
  25. You could totally sell that as a kit to convert an existing bike. Are you gonna? I want one
