I agree that people shouldn't wonder why the brake might stop working after a while. I recommend people thinking about it before water bleeding, but there are so many plus points of water bleeds over oil bleeds I'd encourage people not to be put off by it.
Water is thinner than oil, so it offers a more responsive lever feel.
Water's free.
Water is readily available.
Expanding on those last two points, this means it's not a waste of money to fill a bath with water to bleed your brake. It also means you can bleed it in a fountain if need be.
