That front wheel looks funny... the spokes should cross only once for it to be 1x, obviously, but they look from here to cross a few times. Well, if it's worked and it's true, and from looking at it in real life it's actually 1x, then it's fine yo.

Cool. It's true though, I have a spare frame, all I need is a headset and I can put it together with some existing parts and ride it brakeless. I could even hook up a rear BB7, but I don't fancy doing it yet really.

You can fix them... Sort of. Rewelding them will work for the time being. You can't really replace the steerer tubes though. If they're internally threaded, you could make a small extension thing to screw in. If they're not, you can thread them and make the same adaptor.

If I buy a headset, I can join this bandwagon, albeit without a seat. I dunno if I want to do it just yet though.

Tensiles are definitely threaded cranks. Wrap the sprocket in old chain, bung it in a vice, stick a pipe on the end of the crank and turn.
