I dunno how people destroy their threads, I tighten my mounts up really tight and (with the exception of the leeson I had, which pretty much stripped when you showed it the bolt,) I've never stripped a brake thread, even on my ol' ciguena.

Front disc is better really, lol. I used echo control forks on mine, I think. Or whatever the not-urbans set of forks echo made where, I can't remember. You don't have many options for 24" rim brake, whereas any 26" disc forks will work. If you've not got the budget for a disc brake too, get the because ones.
