Right well obviously your contract legally binds you to pay it so either pay or well lose your job. As for loopholes there aren't any unless seeing your contract. Read it carefully as i am sure a mistake can only be redeemed/payed back when noticed within 72 hours or something stupid like that, legal mumbo jumbo. But to be honest i reckon if you enjoy your job and wish to stay there steal 5.69 from another till one night haha but not your EDIT: and look for something like YOU must cash up tills and it is YOUR responsibility just in case if you do argue the toss you could get in a whole lot more of trouble.
