Mechanical Engineering is different from Mechanics

Mmhmm, but a survey has also revealed that engineers enjoy their job the most.

What Happends If U Dont Pay For A Trian Ticket? And Get Caught
Mr Motivator replied to Davetrials's topic in Chit Chat
A night out in Brighton and you'll need more than £20, you'll need stitches in your ass hole. Lots of fudge packers round that way. -
"I am an engineer" ? I am SICK of people associating me with car mechanics! I don't think engineers are as well valued in the UK as they are in the rest of europe. In many other EU contries, us engineers are considered as well ranked as a doctor or a surgeon. Any others think the same?

Grow up Mark. Get the missus a bike from Argos

I'm not quite sure how your going to "drill the squares out" Edit: As for loctite, that's a contact adhesive, which is best for this type of application.

Mr Motivator replied to sex_on_wheels's topic in Member Organised Rides
Yah might be there -
I stripped the thread to get the crank arm off, Middleburn said that it wasn't covered by the warrenty. However, the guy from Middleburn I emailed said that he would be able to get me one a replacement at a reduced price. Still waiting for him to mail back.

Jesus, you and your hub/hub related problems Simon. Just grind that crock of shit off of there and buy a new cassette and have done with it.

Omg, Ok, Problem. Teach Me To Ride Trials Again.
Mr Motivator replied to Mr Motivator's topic in Trials Chat
Well, I have forgotten my limits, and things that I can do. Even forgetting what components I have on my bike, someone asked me what front brake I had and it took me about 5 mins to remember that I have a juicy 7 -
I went out a couple of hours ago for 30 mins down my park. This is the first time that I've been out in a looong while. In the past 6 months I've been out on my bike twice. Crap. Well, I can control my bike still, just as well as I could 6 months ago, and all small little techie moves are great, I can do them fine, but anything bigger has totaly gone to pot. I started trials back in 2003, and before I recently stopped for the winter and other comitments my riding wasn't bad. I could manage a 7 and a half foot static gap, up about 3ft, roll about 9 ft etc. Never was much good at getting up stuff anyway. However, now, I can't even manage to backwheel a 2 foot funbox!!! I tried for about 15 mins! WTF! My gapping is coming back, but everything else isn't! What the hell! I never thought that this would happen! I suppose I just have to spend this summer getting back to where I was. As I say, I still have good balance and control, but I just can't do anything big. I can't up to front wheel propperly either I've just lost the confidence to do it, I used to be able to manage abot 3 and a half foot. I could never side hop propperly so peh. So, help me to gain some more backwheeling skills quick! Actually you don't really need to, all I need to do is go out an practice and that's all your going to tell me. So this is silly. What a waste of time, I guess I just felt that I needed to tell some people Friek. So there you go. Don't stop riding!

Yes, I'm not that retarded thank you. That's why I said 'a headtube for a 1 1/18" headset', not 'a 1 1/8" headtube'.

Ride! Somewhere Southern! 'in The Middle' Southern
Mr Motivator replied to Mr Motivator's topic in Member Organised Rides
Hmm been a few times now, went to the thing outside the station where all the ghetto shops used to be, the garden on the way to splash, splash, the pond, the other big garden place with the curved walls and benchs and bouling green, the skate park, and the industrial estate with all the pallets via the small alley down the side of a big store like carpet warehouse or something. Don't really think there is much more than that is there? I have seen a few other things in worthng on video but they dont look much? -
Aw cheers guys. Yes that would be me and my wonderfull missus I love you Gaz, you're a real mate

Bolted ones come loose and dont fit KMC Kool chains. Sprung ones are very weak and the spring isn't the best. Check out the new cast (not CNCed) Surley Singulator which is less prone to a failing spring or a snapping bolt. edit: can't spell fit

Portsmouth is now boring, Southampton takes too long to get there and costs, IoW is too expensive, Worthing there isn't much there, Chichester is just crap, Littlehampton is full of travelers and chavs, Emsworth has rocks which are too small and have rats and the skatepark is bad, Havant has europes largest council housing estate, waterlooville is good and havn't been there for a while but is a long ride there and everyone that rides there now works all the time, fareham is also utterly tripe, eastleigh has some natty but it too far. Where do I ride???

Does anyone want to donate (I'll pay postage) to me either a headtube for a 1 1/8th inch headset and/or a BB shell for a normal mtb BB. So if you have any old frames, providing that they are steel, get out your hacksaws and grinders and whack some tubes in the post. If you can't do that, maybe you could tell me the inside diameter of a headtube and a BB shell?
-
Have you ever tried smashing a car window? It's pretty hard, you need to give it a damn good whack. You would have to throw something REALLY hard to smash it.
