  1. I went for a proper ride this eve after work. This road cycling stuff is bloody fantastic, little effort required to keep up about 16-17mph average (and I'm quite unfit at the moment). I also had a bit of a race with a couple kids on mo-peds down hill, there wasn't much in it, they only overtook me at walking pace. I've got a day off work tomorrow so I think I'm going to go for a lonesome ride into the city and maybe pick up some lycra shorts on the way from a lbs. There's just something about jumping on a bike, and off you go. You get there for free, and not exactly that slowly either. Bloody brilliant, I'm so glad I've got one.
  2. I may have to invest in some then. After spending a good hour setting the bike up to fit me, I've just been for a very quick blast and I love it. Over taking cars haha. Next on the shopping list is some gloves, helmet, shorts and maybe some sort of top it took some getting used to riding with my feet strapped in!
  3. I've just got a road bike! Bit the bullet and bought one to get fit and I'm craving the speed. Anyway, what the he'll do I wear out on it without looking too keen? I'm going to invest in a new helmet as a piss-pot would look silly, I've got pedal straps so can get away with trainers until I get well into it, but what do I wear on my legs? I'm not sure I'm man enough to wear Lycra yet.
  4. Mmmm, the best option buddy is to literally just start all over again. I've been there and done it a few times. Save your important files on CDs/USB, obtain a copy of XP/7 and reinstall windows. I know it sounds a bit brutal but in a couple of hours time you will have a nice new fresh system. Then download and install AVGfree, Spyboy and Adaware. All three of those programs are free and excellent at finding and removing any viruses or spyware that might pop up on your new install. .,▲ ▲ ▲
  5. Those shorts are winners. I'd love to do a massive drop like that into water. You'd get an awesome sense of airtime.
  6. I was standing in the door way to my shed and a wasp flew straight past me into the shed, like he knew exactly where he was going, making a bee-line (pun intended) for the corner of the shed. On closer inspection he was wasping away making a nest which was about the size of a golf ball. The next day it was the size of a tennis ball and you could clearly see up inside the nest. The wasp wasn't at home so I battered in his house with a broom handle. Anyway, I think we have another one up in the eaves or in the roof possibly as every time I open the upstairs bathroom window, one or two fly in and go crazy for a plant that's on the window sill. Pictures to follow when I've got my bee suit on.

  9. Cheers for the input guys. It's pretty annoying, mostly it just squeals really loudly and only sometimes does it have bass wobble. @Revolver That vid is fantastic
  10. I've always wanted a road bike for bombing around country lanes at the weekends for a bit of time out on my own. I'm thinking of getting this; http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/allez-16-2010-road-bike-ec019545 Worth it?
  11. Monty used to make 14" trials bike for kids if I remember correctly. That was around 7 years ago (have I really been riding that long).
  12. Used to have an Irish plate. MXi 1407. The "i" was lower case too with the dot. Strange. Used to get comments from the po po all the time. The car got written off and the plate stayed with it. Shame.
  13. Yeah must have been. Look what's round his belt on his back. Looks like a massive lump of lead or something. V. Cool video.
  14. I could see a camel-back working quite well.
  15. Wouldn't mind giving it a go to be honest. I've heard good things. Some people get addicted to it. I'd feel a bit embarrassed though asking for one. DIY kit?
  16. Cannondale Fatty R's. Best fork, since forever.
  17. Positive BB height. All these high tech compound pads so we didn't have to use the councils finest road tar. Super tacky dual ply tyres to stop those damn pinches!
  18. I've just shot a wood pigeon 20 yards down the garden. I plan to breast it following this; Looks pretty easy. Fry it, or knock up a casserole?
  19. Could also be hardware related. I had a similar problem a while ago with the charging system. For the record, don't bother with Linux. It's dificult to find things to work with it sometimes and there is not a great deal of documented support so you have to go and look for the answers. Can be a bit of a mare. I used ubuntu for a year but got fed up with how limited it can be for my uses. Win xp is a safe and cheap bet, vista don't bother and windows seven is much better but still has a few issues with compatibility with older programs. Mac os is a similar story as windows 7 with compatibility.
  20. Yes, go to the quacks. Is it all the time or just every so often?
