  1. Aup Just a quick post to tell you guys about this small vid of a red bull bike comp in Italy. The vid itself has been on the net a while appologies if it has been posted here before. Its made by Roger Keller who is a top Swiss rider. Anyway hard speed trials featuring the worlds best riders, Cesar Canas, Benito Ros, Vincent Hermance, Danny Butler Thomas Ohler http://www.trialkeller.ch/Videos/Fortezza.wmv Worth a watch me thinks Benito and Cesar in a head to head race!! Look what happens to Cesar at the end
  2. In short, yes there is a selection criteria for the members of the British Team however, there has never been more demand than there has places. However this may change! Selection would go off results from World Ranking from World events then UCI rules competition run in England. But there are no UCI rules competitions happening in the UK at the moment (yes I know about freds fort bill thing and Tech 04) but their is no UCI club to run a qualification system similiar to other countries like France or Germany. Basically in no particualr order in 2005 the british team consisted of, Ben Slinger Danny Butler Ashley Butler Rob Poyser John Evans Austin Wright "Peter" Andrei Burton Ben Savage Danny had some good rides in world cups to make the finals Ash and Aust were ranked #4 in the world Ben Savage was European Champ Slingshot got himselfa couple of T shirts Rob, Andrei and myself managed to survive and came out with some good rides and overall rankings Hope that helps John Evans Great Britain Trials Team Manager
  3. Dan is leading UK master this year, is currently ranked #4 in the world UCI. In my own personal opinion he is the best person in the country on a "26 bike. As far as im aware. (slightly more than most, but not all) he has NO official black marks against him at either british or japan BIU HQ there is no reason to keep him out of the team! Ashley is a top rider in his own right, has skills far beyond his years, and trains hard. When he also has a good chance of bringing home some silver. For years I have gone out the The Worlds (BIU / UCI it doesnt matter). For most of the riders there has always been a reocuring dream of having our own round with no monty maffia of filthy spanishness where we could give them a damn good kicking for a change, now the edge has been taken of it with two of our serious hopes for victory and or world titles have been excluded At the end of the day you dont have to like the Bulters, but surely you can see something very wrong is going on here. Id like to know why? and if the reason isnt good enough someones head should roll. So much polotics and bullshit in such a sport is mad, BikeTrials is getting as bad as F1. Just watch out for smoke and mirrors and cloaks and daggers. John Evans
  4. Shame its the same weekend as the last round of the UCI trials world cup in Lausanne in Switzerland.
  5. Just got off the phone with Danny, Danny and Ashley Butler have both signed for Onza. Danny has been given his own named prototype frame. More info and pics when I have more.
  6. Just wondered if there was any news / reports from the NBTC trial at back cowm today...... all Ive heard so far is that Rob Poyser won Elite "26 riding a JB zark. Nice one geez, looks like you must have picked up some extra special powers in Saarbrucken last weekend. Would be cool to hear how everyone else went on though.
  7. John Evans here I paid the entry fee and signed the disclaimer ..... however I didnt completely fill the form in. Dont know why im not on that list.
  8. For those statos amoungst you lot. The type of pallet used is different to a standard blue found all over the UK. The pallets in question are the same length roughly 2/3 the width and 15cm tall(where a larger "true" blue is 16cm). These are often refered to as euros. So basically the monster stack benito struts his funky stuff on is 10cm smaller than you think it is... Normal blue 10 stack = 10x16= 160cm = 63 inch Euro 10 stack = 10x15= 150cm = 59 inch Still fecking nuts if you ask me!!! I know this as I have over 100 normal blues and getting on for 50 euros knocking round in my back yard.
  9. If that turns out to be correct and Brian Matthews does in fact try and carry out that threat, I for one will be very sadened and upset. Not only for the GB squad who will attend Les Get but for the state of trials in the UK and the awful polotics that run it. I have not cancelled an entry, I have made personal choice to attend the event to experience first hand a different type of World Championships and secondly to support some of my friend who have the chance of winning a world title and a nice white T shirt. I have alot more to say on this topic but not enough time at the minute. What do TF users think. Is this a fair way to treat the above riders? I think not More to follow
