  1. Forks look really nice on that frame, better than a sky dare I say it, greens best colour to
  2. Thanks for all the comments guys, looks like I'm just going to have to practice some more on the mod
  3. Thanks Matt I sort of understand what you mean with the rolling up stuff, but I don't get what your on about with the other stuff! Mod is harder than stock to ride for sure, some thing you will know about going from mod to stock yourself. Iv got some clips on the 26 so ll try post them up. Ozzy wants to do some more filming to soon so keep an eye out for some more footage
  4. Personally I would let some fluid/water out so you have a decent lever feeling for now!
  5. Stil stalking shit then Matt
  6. sound like its stripping again, did u put any grease on the thread when fitting ?
  7. Can any one remember the one from a ymsa comp, i think it was on the same visit,. Would love to see it
  8. That's fair enough, I think I'm 1 of 3 people in this topic who has first hand experience regarding these! I have personally seen jacks forks, personally seen both Coust bros forks and spoke to there dad about the mod he's made to them Fact if you run a king headset with your frame which has a 105mm headtube length the stack height will be 136mm +\- .10mm I know this because I measured it myself! Yea this is a guess not a fact, if you make an insert it will void the warranty, but jack don't have to worry as he's sponsored by koxx
  9. At a guess if you make an insert it would void any warranty! Why can't you just use a taller headset like a king? And if Carthy hasn't snapped his yet with the insert your not going to!
  10. He has an insert glued into his steerer tube though!
  11. I got it to ride at the world champs last year, I do enjoy it but I'm always draw back to 26, probly because I can do much bigger/ better stuff! Think I'm going to ride it for the next month as it will probly help my technique alot
  12. always wanted to know how you do that lol? nice editting skills ozzy, not bad for an hours ride
  13. you should be able to use the echo frame you have with a chris king headset rather than an echo which should give you a stack height of 135mm plus, save buying a new frame i make it to be 136mm +/- .10mm
  14. so im arguing now because i asked some questions that no one else throught about?
  15. I don't know why you think I have a problem with yourself or tartybikes! I simply asked some questions, of course it's a bit unclear or there wouldnt be all the posts from others saying there confused! It's not just about warranty, it may cause injury to some one running these with a headset thats to low when the steerer snaps ?
  16. Have you got a bash guard on between the crank and freewheel?
  17. No just trying to get to the bottom of an unclear area, people are asking about these forks, and they are unclear with what headsets etc and frames to use. You don't want people buying them, breaking them and then finding out they couldn't use so and so. Moving the goal posts.. Maybe a nice diagram on the site would explain best ? After all it's the law to provide a warranty as your the retailer? Why would koxx offer a warranty ? Tartybikes are the retailer, I find it funny how tartybikes hide behind the manufacture!
  18. the only problem with that is on alot of headsets you have the bearing then a bit which is a spacer on top of the wedge which isnt doing any thing what so ever, just a spacer. and the only thing giving it a decent fit on the steerer tube is a rubber o-ring. for example of the hope headset its just a spacer. number 7 in the pic. i know on some its actually tappered to locate into the bearing like on a king,so any one running a hope headset is basically running a 5mm spacer? where do you draw the line?
  19. not my cup of tea but enjoyed that
  20. Has any one seen how Gilles has hi forks and the steerer bit he's made ? Could always do that
  21. Please note: Stack height of head tube and headset combined must be a minimum of 135mm. Using a combined stack height less than this will invalidate your warranty. what it says on tartybikes, but they need to make it clear, it doesnt mention any thing about using stackers. but you can always buy a headset which is bigger/taller.. the more cantacting the steerer tube the better, would spread the force out with less of a shear point hopefully adam will set us clear on this. also question for adam. does it matter what headset you use? as the echo ones have a very shallow bearing which doesnt contact the steerer much.
  22. what you mean is your full of shit and you dont know what your guessing about? with regards to the hooking, brakeless/braked hooks are just the same, just because people hook like that with a bad technique it doesnt mean thats the way you hook with brakes. brakeless is just a hook with a perfect technique simple as that. luke it helps so much to understand if you can actually do a hook, its really hard to explain but if you go out and try them then you can understand mech better
  23. Well it depends what rim, why do people seem to ignore that! On rockman/try all square hole rear they where awsome for me but to loud
  24. Can't you just add a stacker to make it 135mm ?
  25. It's best just to be polite and they soon get it that your not out to cause trouble, but if it's a big place then takes longer for the word to get round, at the end of the day if you do t have a light and ur riding at night you are putting yourself in danger. Also try and explain what trials is and where there is or isn't to ride so they can get the idea.
