  1. the red is the insert in the tube the blue is top of headset black being the spacer yellow the shear point its kool if tarty have agreed to using the spacer, but just take care and keep an eye on them
  2. total stack height 31.4mm
  3. the insert is for the star nut to be fitted into, also stopping the steerer from being crushed. the insert ends at around 125mm fromn the crown so they have given a bit of an overlap. im glad people are starting to see my point here
  4. No but you will get a warranty from tarty unless they have changed it! Personally I wouldn't line to try it, if the steerer tube snaps there will be no tell tail signs. It may hurt.. If you want I have a couple of ideas that would make it possible to use your frame and be what I consider safe, just pop me a pm and ll explain
  5. Would you be so kind as to point these out?
  6. Mark this is the last time I'm goin to stoop to your level, whether or not you agree or not with me there is no need to be rude or offensive, after all your ment to be a moderator
  7. Yes totally the point iv already made, I totally agree that it's not logical. The invert needs to be below the bearing by atleast 20mm to spread the shearing force out!
  8. Not trying to argu with you but I can't see there being any point, at the end of the day the insert goes down only so far, the 135mm rule is just trying to insure that it is below the bearing on the headset so that there isn't a shear point where the insert ends. The weakest part of the forks. I'd estimate that the headset being 135mm from the crown is leaving an estimated overlap of 10mm, personally I would rather it to be twice that if it was me.
  9. is there some body holding a gun to your head making you read it ? didnt think so.
  10. isnt that to do with the consistency of how the tar was applied to the rim, iv seen people just rub tar randomly and iv seen people spin the wheel then rub it.
  11. your ment to be a senior member? so why post pointless shit like that? now please can we get back on track
  12. iv never said these are the best forks ever, iv never said that trialtechs are the worst either im not champ, maybe you mean chap.... again when did i say thats these forks are so every one? apart from just then< all i have done is point out what i see as good points of these forks now can we get back on track?
  13. while looking for koxx bloxx on ebay i found these, im sure some one told me about them before and wondered if they were any good seem very cheap for what your getting, might be worth it for the backing alone almost. My link
  14. thanks for sticking up for me even though i rip into your shit sidehop technique lol
  15. eventuallty? less than a month is pretty fast even for a material like aluminium which suffers from fatigue so you could say thats a big weak point when you compare the karbons so called weak point is that they may suffer from weaknes due to marks and chips
  16. beastly gap to be trying over that water.
  17. Still doesn't have any thing to do with jack snapping his alloy forks in 1/2 weeks? Any way we are way past that point now, now on to ways of improving the fork by incerts etc Maybe you should stay well clear of the forks incase your worried about ruffing them up No point using these unless they are going to used to their potential
  18. The problem is that Is a perfect fit with the Alu insert but not the carbon tube, so it's in fresh air? What is that by the way ?
