It won't change your gear ratio, just change the number of revs. 165mm would be best really Basically you will be traveling at the same speed but your legs will be going much slower which helps for run ups. More clearance You will lose around 3% leverage which you won't notice

Yea all the slots may be perfect size but it's location which is the problem. As in not clamped in the same place as the last rim on th machine if that makes sense
