  1. back better than ever mathew
  2. they just measure the deflection of the material for a know load and amount of linear travel. the one i used is just a digital version of that, simply calibrate it with the test pice which has a know value and away you go, but like any measuring equipment it no good unless you calibrate it.
  3. fair enough i was just asking, i know of one that had leaked but its not my place to say. might have been a one off etc
  4. The tensile ones leak or they did in the past. Did you fix that ?
  5. I was think that the height of the pad Might affect performance? Think about cousts they are thicker and give a bit more compression. I always feel my pads don't perform so well when they start to get close to the backing. Don't forget to send me a pair
  6. No good for use in soft materials or on a thread which the bolts going to be screwed in and out faily often Timecerts where invented for plastics and nylons I think. That's what I normaly use them for in work. Like I said iv had loads of people ask me to repair threads where they have tried Helicoils and failed. They can't all be wrong. I can't say iv had any fail on me because iv not done many as I'd go with a time cert unless there isn't enough land
  7. So far iv never seen a failed timcert but iv lost count of f**ked Helicoils if seen when people have brought me some thing to be repaired which they have tried to Helicoil in the past. Like I said not the correct application from them. You Perfectly entitled to you own opinions on them. You carry on.
  8. Not expensive when you spend the time to fit one then never have to f**k about again when your Helicoil falls out.
  9. Push the rolled bush out, the bush is in the pivot hole
  10. Been talking about these for years, what I use in work, Helicoils are good for some purposes just not most of what's required on a bike component
  11. Well maybe if they grouped thef slaves with pistons like they do with bearings so they could get closer tolerances they would be simalar resistance. To many variables though
  12. Looking good. You just need to hire some cheap labour for mass production throught the night
  13. That was fast. When is you resin going to arrive ?
  14. I'm the person who got the hardness results ^ Would be nice to compare the material
  15. How do you know the hardness? Send me a pair and I will check the hardness and test them
  16. How can cousts be harder they wear faster than tnn blues ?
  17. They soak up alot of the force you apply. I know it fells like that flex helps. Not when you get steep. Yes I let the bike flex down a bit when I get settled then lock the rear when so there is some kenetic energy there Iv tried both ways and now tend do do it with rear brake on I do have carbon forks so you might find it difference with alloy. Any wAy just what iv found to work best for myself
  18. Rear brake is always on off to help balanece. But at the point of pre load you should apply the brake just for that secound. That will never happen once you've got the front hooked over. I'm talking about steep rocks.
  19. When hooked over you better to hold rear brake on when you "per load" but release it as you take off
  20. Are you getting the styles mixed up with the way people like Gilles and Carthy do? When the front wheel is hooked over and really that's what's holding the bike and rider. The other is when both wheels are on touched the ground actually under the bottom centre of the wheel Like you showed in the video
  21. You push down with your legs and hip drive that's why his tyres compress. It's alot easyer on a high bb bike though so that will hold you back If you have a low bb you will be really steep Newtons third law explains it Third law: When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body.

    random edit

Pump your rear tyre up a bit
