  2. for mod i would defo say long. As for a stock i wouldn't really know because i have barly rode one. louis x
  3. hi people. just got myself a avid bb7 set up, its the old style caliper with sd7 lever and shimano cale. i have set the brake up to how i like it, also with the pads hitting the disk straight but it still feels very spongy. does anybody have any ideas on how to stop this? thanks louis.
  4. if you make it satday then i will come. trains are poo on sunday's cheers louis
  5. when i had my maggy on front, i ran plaz's on a sharp grind and they was amazing, didn't need to run no tar at all, Or the another option is zoo pads. There even better on a grind but they dont last 2 minutes. i supose if your prepared to pay £18 after a month or two then go for the zoo's otherwise i would stick with the plaz's. cheers louis.
  6. absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!! i new you was good but i wasnt expecting that! awesome riding, everything was just 100% perfect, my eyes was glued to the screen! im watching it again cheers louis.
  7. awesome riding! loved every minute of it. Some proper good stuff. bails at the end could of been worse and the security guard was a nice man. lou.
  8. just take a look on tarty if you are wanting to buy some brand new forks, if not then i would suggest looking on ebay, should be able to find some decent forks for a good price. Look along the lines of echo, monty or zoo. All forks made by these are very good and very strong. I am currently running echo lite forks, very good for the money and can be bought in disk/4 bolt or 4 bolt, or just disk which is very handy. hope i helped. cheers lou.
  9. i would suggest either the Avid bb7 or the new 07 hope mono trials. Both these brakes are amazing and you hold on anything. I have used both brakes on the front but only the hope brake on the back and the hope brake was imense. I would recommend the hope disk over the bb7 but its your choice. The bb7 would be the cheaper option as the hope is £150! cheers lou.
  10. i think that the 07 GU looks awesome, if i was you i would wait for it to arrive at tarty. I think that you would rather wait for the frame you have been wanting for some time than just give up and buy a different one, but if you was to get a different frame in the end i would go for the 07 python. Looks nice, rides nice and genrally is a all round mint bike. the bikes are very popular so therefore must be a great bike. cheers lou.
  11. i currently have a silver GU frame and i have silver bars, cranks, bash, and levers, everything else is black. I really like my colour scheme i think that it goes very well together. I think that pink rims would go very nice on your t-rex, the only option is to try it out and hope for the best mate. cheers lou.
  12. looking good mate. Keep it up you will get there, it just takes tme and lots of practice. When i first started i got bored because i couldn't do anything that my mates could, it did my head in. Been riding 10 month now and im loving trials. how long you been riding? cheers lou.
  13. hey dude, if you are wanting cranks that are isis then i would go for the adamant cranks, they are very styleish and also very strong. They come in a range of different colours which is also cool because you can have them to match your bike, however they are £130, maybe a bit on the dear side for you but i dont know, if it is then go for the echo cnc cranks, these are also nice and strong, come in all different colours and are only £95. If you are wanting cranks that are square taper then i would go for the echo forged, these are also nice cranks but i would say there not as strong as the above, but at £52 you cant go wrong in my opinion. take a look here on tarty and see what you can get. cheers lou.
  14. i used to ride with gloves alot and my hands was ok but i still used to get calisters and they really do hurt but then i got some foam grips and stoped riding with gloves and my hands got used to it because the calisters go hard and you cant feel them. However now i ride with the try-all rubber grips and i personally think they are awesome for riding with when not wearing gloves. When the grips was new they hurt my hands for first few rides but after that, there fine, awesome for riding with, without gloves. also i think that riding without gloves gives you more control over the bike.
  15. well in my opinion i would say the zoo pads are amazing on a smooth rim. run a little bit of tar also on your rim and your brake will be imence. my mate has the zoo pads on the rear, on a smooth rim and a little bit of tar and it is amazing. If you are ever going to grind your rim then get a pair of plazmatic crm pads. I have been running them on my grounded rim for a while now and iv never had a problem. hope i helped you.
  16. its the drive side that is threaded (right) but i think its worth spending £20 to get it sorted. cheers for the information anyway mate, i will ask at my local bike shop.
  17. hello people, i have a old onza t-pro frame in my shed just laying around but the threads in the bottom bracket are threaded on one side, so i am wondering if i would be able to get them helicoiled some how, maybe at a engineers or something. The only reason i am asking is because i have alot of other parts and i am thinking of building up another bike to use or sell on in the future. if you have any information could you please tell me? cheers lou.
  18. i ride with echo lite forks and in my opinion i think there amazing. They are very light weight which makes it feel easier on back wheel, very strong and also they only cost £70 which is a bargain for them. Another advantage of these forks is that you can get them in either 4 bolt only, disk only or 4 bolt and disk. I have got the 4 bolt and disk. When i bought them i was running maggy and i thought if i ever wanted to go disk then why not get them in 4 bolt and disk because it will save money, glad i did this as i am currently waiting for my disk set up to arrive.
  19. considering this is your first bike, i think that you should leave it standard for a while. i had my bike for around 1 month before i upgraded my bars and stem, but i only did this because the standard t-pro bars and stem gave me back pain due to me being so tall (6ft) If you are around the same hight as me i would advise you get new bars and stem, i bought a echo team stem and zoo bars, something along these lines will do fine. Then after you have all the basics such pedal hop and sidehops, then feel free to spend any spare money you may have on upgrading your bike. hope i helped you mate!
  20. foam grips are pritty good grips but they dont last very long and also they get very slippy. i am using the try-all rubber grips, i dont ride with gloves and i find them very comfy to ride with, and also very good for grip.
