  1. Judging people by their car is your choice. I did it for years, which is why everyone hates me. It is a light PH balanced cleaner designed for regular use to keep wheels fresh without harming previously applied products. Which is great for somebody like me who cleans their car two or three times a week. Water wouldn't have done the same job. I would never let anything get "engrained" in my wheels, because I take pride in my car. Nor would I use a sponge on my wheels. I sprayed the cleaner on, left it whilst I had a smoke and rinsed off. Don't be grumpy, it makes me sad.
  2. O noes. 1.8t with every modification possible on the stock turbo. 245bhp/319lbft, launch control and fancy mapping. Manly clutch, sorted suspension, monster brakes etc etc. So why only interested in cars after this weekend?
  3. Thanks Stix! It makes me proud to know people dig it. It is my baby.
  4. If I am honest I love these brakes as they are, and as such will be buying the highest performance pads and discs I can. Already I have had some great experiences with them, well worth the use of handbrake late at night and cleaning. The braking power is immense. This morning was a good morning. Up early, which made me grumpy because I need a lay in. Wheels were minging, after four days and 20 miles. So I used the "blind test" product, a PH balanced wheel cleaner designed to protect any waxes and protect products on the wheels. Hope it works! It really really does! Best wheel cleaner I have ever used! So I rinsed and washed the car, two buckets obviously and Hubiwash.* Then used Sonax Xtreme detailed to bring it back up.* Trims and recesses cleaned with 3:1 diluted Auto Finesse APC. Then waxed with Angel Wax Desirable...which is outstanding! Then glazed with AMD RaceGlaze, which spreads so well and comes off with no fuss. Cleaned the glass with Gtechniq perfect glass.* Blacked the plastics with Megs endurance and hoovered the inside and dressed the plastics with the Sonax detailer. It looks good. * And a cheeky edit. Dull update I know.
  5. First line of the lower portion of the ticket. He is a retard. Is he a forum member? Name and shame him.
  6. Thanks man, couldn't have done it without you. Very happy
  7. So. I purchased some used engine mounts from RedBull/Paul. Prawn filled them with pourable poly, 1KG for both mounts - Polytek Poly PT Flex 85 Fast Cure - Shore A85 Polyurethane Rubber - 1kg | eBay More on them later. I was told to meet Nick at his house at 10. Like that was ever going to happen. Had a cheeky wash and hoover at the local eastern Europeans, bloody good too. Always use them for a simple wash. Arrived at Nicks at 5 to 9, and waxed my car. With Angel Wax Desire courtesy of this months Waxybox. Nick was not happy about this, his neighbour was very happy to see me though. She's lovely. Then I walked to Sainsburys to get his other neighbour her paper. Came back, Prawn made coffee and I ate biscuits. Then we got on with it. Old cruddy 312's. Old cruddy 312's off. Prawn won't work without his blankey. Smeagol making the pad wear sensors short out. Cleaning the hub faces. Not a huge difference in disc diameter, but the thickness is huge. One side on, kevlar lines. Obviously. It rained, Prawn was sad about this. Desire was doing its job though, we were both mesmerized at the water just not being able to sit on my car. It was constantly moving and pouring off. Next side on. 85 shore engine mounts fitted. And then I squirreled underneith and did the dogbone for my old Super-Pro race bushed one, which was still perfect but was causing issues with the worn engine mounts. Started her up. Hoooooly **** these mounts are loud and grumbly! And utterly beautiful. My car has effectively become a petrol powered love machine, the entire interior shakes. But not a violent broken shake, a beautifully connected and smooth vibration. Like the car is happy. This is good. The mounts will hopefully soften slightly with time, but if they stay like this I'm not bothered by the vibration. Most people would hate it, but most people don't want super stiff engine mounts. So be warned, these are not quiet. They feel LOVELY, really really full on good. But they're noisy, noisier than the engine. Brakes. Brakes. Brakes. Wow. They are unholy style good compared to 312's, especially with the Mintex M1177 race pads and new EBC Ultimax slotted discs Prawn has given me. They were Prawns final incarnation of the LCR brake kit, and the ones he was happiest with performance wise. So to have gone from 4 year old worn out 312's which I thought were great to these is a bit of a large step. The power isn't the best in the world (well to me it is, and to 99.9% of the world), but the brake feel and the pedal response is instant. Very progressive but short, literally perfect. Obviously bled with ATE Super Blue. Car looks rather different with a lairy set of brakes. The new increased stopping power has highlighted worn subframe bushes, so 034 solid bushes from what will be ordered on Monday. Very, very happy. All of a sudden with the solid mounts and brakes the poly suspension bushes are coming alive, and the car doesn't feel old anymore. It feels so tight and responsive. Next chapter is the Project camber top plates which are en-route and coilovers. I can't wait.
  8. Prawn has just made these for me. Standard mounts drilled out, hydraulic engine mount goo removed and necked with Polytek 85 shore pourable polyeurothane. I'll tell you what they are like this afternoon.
  9. A reasonable amount more than before, when subjectively reviewing the two turbo setups as cost effective and viable rivals. I hated Prawns hybrid, I am totally head over heels in love with the new K04-064 set up. So much punchier and more character.
  10. Drifting is NOT quick. Shit tires and no grip losing Alex his competetive season points is the connection you are looking for. Gutted for you.
  11. What's the rev limit? Looks like 7?
  12. 30% off ATE Super Blue on the Euro Car Parts website for all who are interested.
  13. #don'tforgetaboutme VAG use the same platform for diesel and petrol cars, even the same shell for AWD and 2WD cars. EVERY chassis upgrade for a petrol A3 will be transferable for the diesel variant with both the 8L (our shape) and 8P new shape. Which shape/age are you looking for? Both are the same either way. AP are a great brand at the moment for coilovers.
  14. I wish I had of spent my money on my Clio. Instead of my A3. There we go; I've said it. Expect 195 ish; unless you have cammage? - More pictures. Sorry guys. Cheeky snap from this morning. I. Want. Brakes! So far today i've picked up the brakes, robbed a set of mounts off a friend, ordered 1kg of Polytek 85 pourable polyeurathane.
  15. Oh my. Beautiful bits of kit, which coil pack holder did you go with? Are you going to run a sock filter or the cone behind the light? - After a bit of a clean up, I have a sub 9 set of brakes. With EBC Ultimax slotted discs and Mintex M1177 race pads. Cheers Prawn!
  16. Tell him you are within the Prawn and Jardo circle of friends and we ppointed you in his direction. I am sure he will post.

  18. Cast arms are £100/120 used, and will need new bushes. "Defcon" inserts/bushes are what you need. http://www.autops.co.uk/product.asp?catalog=011804&productid=311112&order=&manu= Oh yes. Don't bother with polybushes in the rears, they seem to just tear or misshape and be poop. Well mine have anyway. Yep, track car ahoy. Live 0.8 miles from work, don't pay any bills. Can you post pics of the Brembos for me once you get to the flat? Thanks bro. Xxx This site is where Prawn gets most of his Mk4 porn from. http://www.usrallyteam.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=76 I could spend thousands in there. Have a look around, if URST list it then you want it. Or look at using these - http://www.usrallyteam.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_208_164&products_id=961
  19. No pictures update. My one wheel drive, over weight non BMW cheat-powered daily driver had some cash spent on her today. A set of rebound adjustable AP coilovers have been ordered, a set of Project Silver camber plate top mounts and Prawn is delivering a set of 323mm Brembos off an LCR to me early next week. If I haven't wiped out my funds a pair of RMD maximum protection seats will be ordered along with LCR caster corrective hubs and potentially VT engine mounts. As somebody who is famous for never spending money on my car, this is most alarming to a lot of people.
