The G3 EA888 turbo is insane, along with a different injector position. Which gives two rails, and two sets of injectors. One direct and one below the valves. The 8P only got the Gen1 EA888 engine range, which were great but still heavily flawed. As I am lead to believe the Golf will only come equipped with a K03 and the Audis will come with a larger K04, so the same as the old Mk5/6 platforms. The Gen3 EA888 is being really well guarded, I have hardly seen any solid fact on them. Other than APR's imagined tuning figures.
