  1. Can't read, banned. 6 points is the maximum that could be awarded; I haven't heard it from the horses mouth yet myself but what I have heard is a discussion about "what could the maximum be?" (From Darren) and "6 points and a CoC exclusion" from somebody else. Either way, disgusting behaviour. - Bad news Mike, new engines are nice and cheap though
  2. Where did you get that information from?
  3. He didn't have any actions on the day, not even a talking to and was simply told he was excluded from the event, loaded up his trailer and went home. Didn't even check to see if Darren was on or apologise. CoC pulled Darren and him in to view footage and take accounts, then Mr Porsche was sent on his way. Darren didn't actually action a complaint about him, it was the CoC that pulled him in for the event. The day's results - http://www.tsl-timing.com/msvr/2014/144151cmv.pdf Having a retrospective 6 points on a racing license is nothing compared to what Darren has got ahead of him to get back to the same position he was in. FYI this is the fanny - https://m.facebook.com/richard.hughes.3304
  4. ^^Nick and I know the bloke quite well, he organises a lot of the track days and is a very regular member on the forum we go on. Mr Porsche got retired from the event and no further action. C*nt.
  5. Don't want to sound like a fanny, appreciate this is a sensitive time, appreciate you have only just got the MX5 and have spent a little bit of money on it, appreciate I might be wrong. When was the last time you checked the oil? Couple of weeks ago? Thousand miles ago? Yesterday? This morning? Don't all MX5's have oil temp and pressure gauges in the dash? (May be wrong, new ones do anyway) In case you don't know pretty much all sporty cars older than about 10 years will use about a litre of oil about every 1000 miles. There are exceptions; I'm sure Rich once owned a Mk2 8V which didn't use a drop of oil for 72,000 miles and so on and so forth. But as a general rule of thumb when I had a car which didn't have an oil level sensor I checked the oil every couple of hundred miles. So if you haven't checked it for a couple of weeks, welcome to old high mileage cars If you checked it recently; where has it all gone? You WOULD have noticed a litre (that's about what the dipstick reading is) within the last couple of days billowing out the back or dripping into the floor.
  6. Let's. I saw two identical 182 cups at Donington, lapping together all day. They were having a right laugh.
  7. They didn't conciously lower it; it's only 7mm lower than an A3. Which is because it is 150kg's heavier. "Done properly" being the main thing I will pluck from that. Spending money on all these bushes and top mounts is fine; but if you're just going to slap some free springs on the front and claim it feels amazeballs and its SUCH an inprovement then you've maybe missed a trick and didn't need to spend all that money on other stuff. I would rather drive a standard 1*2 than one which only had lowering springs on the front. Also. There aren't many drivers who can "out drive" a Clio 1*2. I couldn't. So why do you need to up the performance? Maybe this is just me preaching because of my new found love for driving slowly round a track. Just my tuppence anyway.
  8. Sam. Yawn. 99% of "hot hatches" are ruined when they are lowered. It's all about having a tractor ride height, smashing it down B roads and trying to make it topple over haha.
  9. Noticable difference up front Dan, far more balanced
  10. I'm NOT doing the figure of 8.
  11. I might just turn up to watch. No figure of 8, I beg you. It just doesn't flow and feels horrific. Also can I request a sighting cone for the apex of the right hander after the straight.
  12. Figure of eight is fantastically gay. I will refuse to go if it is not run on the old B circuit layout.
  13. Just from talking to the right people really. I was just chatting away to them about racing and how it must be a whole different ball game from just track days and that I was quite new to it all and how did they get into racing. "Well we just did track days then started paying to enter events when we got our license. We're doing ROR and need a driver on Sunday, it's a £2000 entry of you fancy it?" Haha. Back pedal back pedal back pedal, explain just quite how new to it I am, explain I don't have an ARDS license let alone ever had a tuition session. That's the problem with hanging out with Prawns friends; they're all really "proper."
  14. I don't want to race it haha, I wanted to spectate. A few friends of mine are racing in the Hero class in an old Alfa 75. Hilariously I was offered a seat in one of the MX5's there being run by Mission Motorsport...Only catch was I didn't have £2000 or an ARDS license and they didn't realise I can't drive for toffee haha!
  15. Agree. I was considering going to the ROR race at Anglesey. Then I realised its more travelling time than a flight to Monaco. f**k that.
  16. Not with you, because you won't be there.
  17. Whoops, impromptu Silverstone GP this Thursday. Not in the S mind you.
  18. ABS cycle through VCDS is what I'm doing tomorrow morning, if my cable decides to work. Just like Prawn did the other week I just assumed that the eesibleed pick up pipe was connected when it wasn't and ran the master low, so chances are the ABS pump could be full of air. The press method is ok, it's just the last inch of travel that can risk flipping the seals. Lots of people do it, it's just gash and antiquated.
  19. Yeah I'm going to give that a go, but I need Prawn to give me a hand so he can pump the pedal. It's just annoying me a little, the car drives totally fine, no worries driving it, the brakes work perfect and the pedal goes nice and solid. It's just got more travel than I would like It'll be fine, just need to get Pdog involved so we can get two people on it
  20. Absolutely. I've bled the master cylinder too. Oh well, I just booked a track day at Brands on the 5th of December (Mazda on track) so I'll HAVE to get it fixed and get the brake ducts fitted.
  21. Drove her many miles today to Goodwood and back. As I've lost one of the center caps I've taken them all off. I'm having an odd inability to bleed the brakes, but Gareth has put me onto a trick I had totally overlooked to try and isolate the problem. Basically I've put almost 2L of fluid through the system, with an Eezibleed, fluid's never run out or anything stupid like that. But I just can't get the pedal right. Yesterday I rebled and I got a few bubbles out of the nearside rear (furthest from the cylinder) and it feels a tiny bit better today. But it's just not right
  22. This is a rant which involves women in general, but as I've already ruined everyone's thoughts on me within this thread I'll contain it all here. This rant was sparked by some bint on Sky News last night saying that women are becoming second class citizens. One of the points that she made was that women should be able to go out wearing whatever they want and men should never be able to use that excuse for rape, harassment or sexually inappropriate behaviour. This really made my shit itch. Not because I disagree with it, not because I think rape is great or that all women should be covered ankle to shoulders. The illogical double standard of the whole situation just shows that clearly a majority of modern women have absolutely no self respect, or understanding of what is acceptable in a civilised society. This surprised me. Because I didn't realise it was an opinion that widely accepted. Rape and sexual harassment isn't accepted in civilised society; so why should dressing in a sexually provocative way be acceptable? They did it was smoking. Serious health risk; ban the adverts. Does that double standards mean I can go out in a t shirt that says "ALL MUSLIMS ARE C***S" and no Muslim should be allowed to take offence to that? Or if I went out in a bed sheet with a pointy hat on underneath I should expect to be called a racist? Or if I went out dressed in an arms uniform I shouldn't expect people to think I am in the forces? Or if I go out dressed as a doctor in a pair of scrubs I shouldn't expect people to think I'm a doctor? Or if I so pleased I should be allowed to go into a gay bar in a leather posing pouch and a matching waist coat and not expect blokes to want to bum me. But women can go out dressed like prostitutes and expect not to attract unwanted attention from others? I probably haven't explained it very well, hopefully you see my point and don't just think I'm giving the green light for rape if she's showing more than 60% of her skin.
  23. I've seen stranger things. So you've had the wheel alignment done; and now the ride height is different left to right and one wheel pokes out more than the other. Seems a little odd that's all
  24. The car's clearly had a shunt.
