Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread
Pashley26 replied to Has anyone seen my shoe?'s topic in Chit Chat
I really f**king miss Wonder Woman. She's in Australia now, hardly ever has Wifi and every time I speak to her she is drunk, or I'm with people and it isn't an appropriate time to talk. She was on the Greyhound bus yesterday for 5 hours, I stayed up until 4 in the morning talking to her because it is the first time in months she has had wifi and I haven't felt like I am taking time away from her travels. By the end of a thirty minute FaceTime we were both almost in tears at how much we miss each other. I went off to bed and she said she was going to move to another part of the bus to watch a film with her new found friends. I went to sleep and about twenty minutes later she text me saying she just wanted to chat. I thought something might be up, or like she had something she felt like she needed to tell me. Which is probably just my own insecurity and nervousness about her being so far away. Turns out she literally just missed me and wanted to know everything about what's been going on in my life over the past couple of months and she wanted to tell me everything she had been doing. It was just so nice to talk to her and not feel any pressure, and when I woke up the next morning I had totally forgotten she wasn't here and for the first time since she left when I woke up I put my hands out to grab her and she wasn't there. I instantly felt like a total fanny, had a wank and went to the gym to try and man myself up. I'm feeling confident that all this time apart is really going to keep us strong when she gets back, and I've really learned a lot about myself in the last few months. Huge learning curve. I just wanted to splurge about it, pointless post really. Sorry for taking some of your time up to read it. -
Picked up a Garmin Vivosmart today off the back of your recommendation. Thanks

You aren't wrong. I skim read the features and some how totally over looked sleep monitoring. Oddly it appears they sell them in Halfords, and I get staff discount in there from the manager so I might go have a look.

It's a young chav thing. They do it with the word to as well. "I'm going gym." "I'm going Tesco, want anything?" "I'm going Trax the weekend." Degree my arse.

Unfortunately none of the Garmin models offer sleep monitoring, which if I am honest is a feature I want. Just because I find myself waking in the night a lot, and I'm curious about what my body is doing whilst I am asleep and not conscious of it on training days, rest days and following different diet variations and routines. And I want to find out if cheese really does give you nightmares or not. Thanks for the recommendation though

Sup G's. Lad at work has a Jawbone, claims it is a fantastic mental aid to stop him snacking, reminding him to drink water and live healthy. (His words not mine) This is what I need to supplement my daily fitness routine I think. And I'm a geek, so I want to know the stats and figures. Guy at work doesn't really have anything I say about the functionality of his activity tracking wrist band, but just says he likes it. I've wanted one for a while, but ultimately I want something I can wear as a watch replacement. Because I always wear a watch I can't really have a watch and a band, it would be silly. So. I've been looking at the Fitbit Surge. I thought to myself, that fits the bill. I'll order one. http://www.techradar.com/reviews/gadgets/fitbit-surge-1270574/review Not out yet. So then I searched some more and found the Basis Peak. That fits the bill I said, I'll buy that. http://www.mybasis.com Not out yet. And so on and so forth! So can I outline what I want and ask the collective knowledge of TF to help me find something? I want an activity tracker that will monitor my heart rate, my distance travelled, automatically detect sleep and monitor my patterns, have a 48h + battery life, have phone connectivity and ultimately have a smart watch type interface. Does such a thing exist? Or are my requirements beyond current technology?

Hugely over rated. I used GoPro's for years when I was cycling. They weren't any better than the £50 SJ4000 cam I have now. To the average consumer the new 4's features won't be accessible and they really won't get a huge benefit from it. Wind forward 5 years when the technology becomes accessible in low end devices and available to all and then it will be worth it.

Nick's Mini. Yeah, I cracked a head on a Mk4 Zephyr once. Couldn't ever get the engine right after.
-
Have a look at those valves. You'd get yours a bit bigger if you tried.

No Tom. I wear so many different types of footwear, the driving position changes daily. And do I want to be hunched up on the steering wheel like I'm on track when I'm just cruising to work? No. It might offend you but I like it. No, the toe on my rear wheels is absolutely f**king perfect. Your eyes are telling you fibs. And in your fury at my wonky exhaust you didn't even mention my wonky number plate. See it works. Tom should be fixing his Mini, Rich should be pouring pints, I should be posting pictures, belittling others and buying aftershave. That's the way of the world.

Pull the other one. When you drive a car as much as I do adjustments in the seat is essential.
-
But I don't want to. I like it, and I like the rusty boot.
-
No. Why would I? It works.
-
Things that I did today include fitting spacers and fitting polyurethane filled engine mounts. Take that engine mount. Gearbox mount. Nice and wonkey Spacers. 20mm rear. Camber innit. 15mm front. Arch gap of champions. Inside innit. The new engine mounts make my face ache. I like them though.
-
Pourable Polytek 85 Shore into a square block and cut from that. It's what I used on my engine mounts.
-
"Just a car innit." Your mum deserves a f**king medal.

Unless you have a turbo and an ECU capable of adjusting for increased airflow!

It will be flat as f**k!

58.8 seconds. I'm on it.

Ten points to Gryffindor!!!

Hahahahahahahahaha. You know when you're on a train that's stopped. And you think maybe your train has pulled away, but actually it's the one next to you going the other way and it freaks you out. That's what it's like when you passed me.

Keep up Prawn! I'm sure there's an apex here somewhere?!

It's the cam cover gasket.

It's not bad to be fair. I know loads of track layouts just from playing Forza. No, it will be fine. The noise at Curby is my really an issue. £30 a corner tires sounds great fun. But how are the brakes?
